Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The Shield Savant becomes one with their shield as they level up. They are masters of using their shields to deal damage, protect allies, and intimidate enemies.

Weaponized Shields

Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you may use a shield you are wielding as a weapon without compromising the bonus to AC. Your shield does 1d6 + STR bludgeoning damage and the target must make a STR or DEX save (8+ prof + mod) or be knocked prone (STR) or knocked 5 feet back (DEX), attackers choice of save.

Improved Two-Weapon Fighting

Beginning at level 3, you are able to ignore the "light" property requirement when two-weapon fighting with a shield and a one-handed melee weapon. You still need to take a bonus action to use the second weapon and you still don't add any modifiers to the 2nd attack.

Arcane Shielding

Starting at 7th level, the bond between you and your shield becomes magical in nature. You are able to cast the Shield spell twice per short or long rest. In addition, you cannot unwillingly drop your shield, even by magical means.

Improved Weaponized Shields

At 10th level, your shield now does 2d6 + STR bludgeoning damage.

Greater Shield Mastery

At 10th level, you gain all the benefits of the Shield Mastery feat. In addition, you can use your reaction to add your shield's AC to the AC of an ally within 5 feet of you, potentially causing the attack to miss them.

Shield Rush

Starting at level 15, if you move 10 feet or more before making an attack with your shield, your shield does 3d6 + str bludgeoning damage and you gain advantage on such attacks.

Menacing Shield

At 18th level, your shield becomes a menacing presence on the battle field. If a target fails a DEX save, in addition to being knocked back, the target drops up to two items it is currently wielding. If the target fails a STR save, in addition to being knocked prone, it is also restrained by the shield as well(up to Large creatures). The target is restrained until succeeding a STR save, which it can attempt on each turn, or until you use your shield to attack any target or defend yourself or an ally.
