College of the Skald

Skalds are battle-hardened bards who lead from the front, blending martial prowess with the power of song. Their music rallies allies, unnerves foes, and turns every fight into an epic tale. From longships to tavern brawls, a Skald’s presence is impossible to ignore.

Skaldic Warrior

You are trained for the front lines of the Foundation's wars. You gain proficiency with Medium Armor, Shields, Martial Weapons, and Firearms. Additionally, you can use a weapon you are proficient with as a Spellcasting Focus for your Bard spells.

Skald’s Valor

Your music provides more than just morale; it provides physical resolve. When a creature uses a Bardic Inspiration die from you, they also gain Temporary Hit Points equal to your Charisma modifier + the number rolled on the die. These Temporary Hit Points last for 1 minute.

Battle Cry

You can unleash a thunderous roar that dictates the pace of the fight. As an Action, or as a Bonus Action by expending one use of your Bardic Inspiration, you can choose up to three creatures within 30 feet of you that can hear you. Each target has Advantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn. Additionally, you and any friendly creatures within 10 feet of you are immune to the Frightened condition for 1 minute. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a Short or Long Rest.

Extra Attack

In accordance with 2024 martial Bard standards (like the College of Valor), you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your Cantrips in place of one of those attacks.

Inspiring Presence

You have become a living legend. You emanate a 30-foot aura of heroism. While you are conscious, you and friendly creatures in the aura have Advantage on saving throws against being Charmed or Frightened. Furthermore, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can use your Reaction to grant one ally within 30 feet of you Temporary Hit Points equal to your level + your Charisma modifier.
