Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians who walk the Path of the Dragoon channel the power of dragons through techniques used by legendary dragon hunters known as Dragoons. The Dragoons consumed small quantities of dragon blood to gain their powers. These Barbarians gain their abilities in a similar way to Dragoons, but channel the power of dragon blood through their rage, and they have adopted a simplified form of the Dragoon’s signature acrobatic aerial fighting style.

Level 3: Ancient Dragoon Techniques

You take half damage from falling and you never land Prone from falling.

In addition, you gain proficiency in the Acrobatics skill and you can use your Strength modifier for Acrobatics checks, even while your rage is not active.

Level 3: Dragoon’s Leap

Channel the power of a dragon to take to the skies and attack from above. As part of the Bonus Action you take to activate your rage and as a Bonus Action while your rage is active, you can spend 10 feet of movement to leap to a point you can see up to 30 feet away from you. This leap lifts you up to 60 feet into the air and requires you to have at least 20 feet of open space above you and your destination to be used. Your movement during the leap does not provoke Opportunity Attacks.

If you make an attack with a melee weapon as you land and hit, you take no falling damage and deal an additional 1d6 damage. You can also make an attack during the leap against an airborne creature and gain the same additional damage on hit. This damage increases to 2d6 when you reach Barbarian level 10.

Level 6: Rapid Reposition

When you use Dragoon’s Leap you can chose to forgo the bonus damage to an attack and reduce the range of the leap to 15 feet to bring along a willing creature that is in a space adjacent to you if it is Medium or smaller. When you do so the leap lifts both you and the creature up to 30 feet into the air instead of 60 and the other creature does not take falling damage when you both land.

In addition, you can use this feature while you and another creature within 5 feet of you are falling to prevent the other creature from taking falling damage when you both land. The other creature must be Medium or smaller.

Level 10: Dragonfire Dive

Cloak yourself in the flames of a dragon to cause devastating impacts. When you use Dragoon’s Leap you can take an action during the leap to use a powerful diving attack when you land. All creatures other than yourself in a 20-foot-radius Sphere centered on you when you land must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC equal to 8 plus your Strength and Proficiency Bonus.). On a failed save, a creature takes 6d6 Fire damage and has the Prone condition. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage only. This damage increases to 8d6 when you reach Barbarian level 14. You take no falling damage when you land after using this feature.

Once you have used this feature you cannot do so again until you finish a Short or Long Rest. You can expend a use of your rage to restore your use of it (no action required).

Level 14: Dragoon's Rage

You have learned how to channel the full might of the dragon blood in your veins. While your rage is active you gain Resistance to Fire damage, and when you use Dragonfire Dive or deal additional damage on an attack with Dragoon’s Leap you deal an additional 1d6 Fire damage with all subsequent attacks with a melee weapon until the end of your next turn.

In addition, you now take no damage from falling while your rage is active.
