Base Class: Fighter

A fighter who protects and defends others, fighting back against the dark forces of the world with only the use of a shield or two. Aegis fighters use shields as weapons and can wield more than one. They often protect and defend their allies against physical and arcane attacks. Usually aegis fighters have a spiritual, divine, or heroic bond with their shields. Often they are named and well cared for as a representation of the care they provide to their friends and allies.

Level 3: Shield Baron

You gain the ability to utilize shields as both offensive and defensive weapons. Also gain the ability to utilize more than one of these versatile tools. You gain an additional point of AC when holding 2 shields.

Shields:

to hit: 8 + proficiency + Strength modifier

Damage: 1d6 Versatile 1d10

Weapon Mastery: Push. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can push the creature up to 10 feet straight away from yourself if it is Large or smaller.

Level 3: Shield Specialist

Starting at level 3, you can spend your reaction to perform a shield specialization technique.Starting at level 3, you can spend your reaction to perform a shield specialization technique.

1. Power Slide: You may dash as a reaction by sliding on your shied. This reaction must be used on your turn

2. Heroic Shove: When an ally within 5 ft of you would be within the area of effect of a spell or ability that you can see, you can move them up to 15 ft away from you in a straight line in an attempt to escape it.

3. Full cover: When a ranged attack is aimed at an ally within 5ft you can block the attack. The new target for the attack becomes you.

Level 7: Get Behind Me

This feature is added as one of your shield specialization techniques.

You can heroically leap in front of an ally within 30 ft of you. The next AOE effect or spell that would deal damage to them is completely blocked. Your ally takes no damage however you automatically fail the save, but you gain resistance to the damage.

Level 10: Shield of Justice

All allies between your shield and the source of magic gain resistance to magical damage and advantage on saving throws against it, including yourself.

Level 15: Shield Guardian

You gain an additional reaction that can only be used on shield specialization techniques.

Level 18: Immortal Shield

All incoming damage to you is reduced by your fighter level. Your shield effects remain active even when you fall to 0 hit points.
