Base Class: Ranger
Hellfire Wardens are rangers who have adapted to the infernal realms, mastering hellfire to track and destroy creatures that escape the lower planes. They combine martial prowess with fiendish magic, binding their will to flame and fear, ensuring no soul escapes its fate.
Hellfire Warden Magic
When you reach certain levels in this class, you always have specific spells prepared, as shown in the Hellfire Warden Spells table. These spells do not count against your number of spells known.
Hellish Gifts
Your connection to fiends grants you the following benefits:
- You learn to speak, read, and write Abyssal and Infernal.
- When you cast Hunter’s Mark, you can choose for its damage to become Fire damage instead of its normal type.
Flames of the Abyss
You can channel hellfire into your attacks. Once per turn, when you deal extra Fire damage with Hunter’s Mark, you can choose one of the following effects:
- Hellfire Lash:
Choose up to two creatures within 10 feet of the marked target.- One target: takes 1d6 Fire damage
- Two targets: each takes 1d4 Fire damage
- Fear:
The target must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or become Frightened until the start of your next turn.
Reaper’s Resilience
When a hostile creature is reduced to 0 hit points within 10 feet of you, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier + your Ranger level (minimum 1).
Scythe of Perdition
As an action, you manifest a spectral scythe and strike creatures of your choice within 30 feet.
Each creature must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC:
- Failure: 8d6 Fire damage
- Success: Half damage
Damage increases to 10d6 at level 15.
Once used, you cannot use this feature again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a 3rd-level spell slot or higher.
Infernal Assault
Weapon attacks against creatures affected by your Hunter’s Mark score a critical hit on a roll of 18–20.
Additionally, your Hellfire Lash damage improves:
- One target: 1d8 Fire damage
- Two targets: 1d6 Fire damage each
