College of Culinary Bard

Bards focusing on discovering the hidden magic behind their talents and the College of Culinary is no different. Students of this College study and research the Hidden magic of cooking and fine cuisine.

The world has a lot to offer and each culture has its own taste. Culinary bards will often explore the world, discovering new flavours and techniques to help master their crafts.

Level 3: Culinary Arts

You learn the Prestidigitation cantrip.

Also, you gain expertise with cook's utensils and you can use it as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells.

Furthermore, after a long rest, you create a rejuvenating meal for your companions. Using your Cook's utensils, you can create a meal for up to 8 people, anyone who eats this meal loses a point of exhaustion.

Just the Appetizer

Using your cook's utensils and an action, you can spend any number of Bardic Inspiration uses to create tantalising bite sized appetisers. For each use of Bardic Inspiration expended you create two appetisers, these appetisers last 8 hours and can be consumed as a bonus action. When you create an appetiser, you choose what flavour it is from the following;

Savory. The rich savory flavour of this appetiser satisifes even the deepest cravings. When consumed, roll your Bardic Inspiration die, the creature is healed by the amount rolled.

Spicy. The hot and spicy flavour of this appetiser rouses the senses. When consumed, the creature can add your Bardic Inspiration die to its next initiative rolls. This effect lasts 1 hour or until they roll initiative. 

Sweet. The sweet and sugary flavour of this appetiser provides an otherworldly sugar high. When consumed, the creature's speed is increased by 10ft for 1 minute. Once consumed, you cannot consume another sweet appetiser for 1 minute.

The appetisers are tiny, almost weightless and must be in your inventory if you wish to consume it. As a bonus action, you can throw any number of Appetisers to any creature within 30ft of you. Creatures targeted by this feature don't consume the Appetiser, instead it falls safely into their inventory.

The maximum appetisers that can exist at one time is equal to 2 x your Charisma modifer.

Coaxing Cuisine

The taste of your cooking is a luxury few have experienced. You have advantage in Charisma (Persuasion) checks against any creature that has eaten any of your cooking, including appetisers, within the last hour.

Chef's Special

You've perfected the appetisers created by your "Just the Appetiser" feature. When consumed, each appetiser now provides the following benefits;

Savory. Roll your bardic inspiration die twice, instead of once when determining how much a creature is healed.

Spicy. The spicy sensation now lasts until they roll initiative, instead of an hour.

Sweet. The creatures speed increases by 20ft, instead of 10ft.
