Base Class: Wizard
"Space is not merely a barrier. It is a variable." -Jack Florence.
Wizards of the School of Dimensional Weaving see reality as a mutable lattice of coordinates; every distance, every trajectory, every angle just another number to adjust. Through intense mathematical focus and deep arcane understanding, they bend the geometry of the world, slipping through folds of reality, redirecting attacks, and, at their peak, tearing existence apart with surgical precision.
Spatial Distortion
Your studies grant you insight into the mutable architecture of space itself.
Fold Step
When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you can teleport yourself or one willing creature you can see within 30 feet to an unoccupied space within 15 feet of its current location.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum once), regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Spatial Tuning
When you cast a spell that affects an area (such as a cone, line, or sphere), you can bend the geometry of that spell as you release it. Choose one of the following modifications:
-
Expand: Increase the spell’s radius, length, or width by 5 feet. This increases to 10 feet at level 5, 15 feet at level 11, and 20 feet at level 17.
-
Compress: Halve the spell’s area but double its range or duration (your choice).
-
Deflect: Pivot the spell’s area of effect up to 45 degrees, potentially bending the trajectory around targets.
You can use this feature once per spell you cast.
Dimensional Refraction
"The trick isn't blocking the Fireball. It's teaching it new coordinates."
You’ve learned to calculate and manipulate the geometry of incoming attacks, rewriting their trajectories through sheer will and precision.
When a creature you can see within 90 feet of you makes an attack roll, uses an ability, or casts a spell that targets an area, you can use your reaction to attempt to refract the incoming strike.
You and the attacker make opposed Intelligence (Arcana) checks. You gain advantage on this check if the effect originates within 30 feet of you.
On a success, choose one of the following effects:
Redirect
You bend the effect mid-flight. Choose a creature within 30 feet of the original target.
The attack, ability, or spell now targets that creature instead, using the same attack roll or save DC.
Deflection
If there’s no valid alternate target, you distort the energy to reduce its impact:
-
A single-target effect grants the target advantage on its saving throw or resistance to the triggering damage.
-
An area effect has its area reduced or shifted by up to 15 feet, potentially excluding allies.
Backlash (Exceptional Success)
If your Arcana check exceeds the opponent’s by 10 or more, you seize full control of the effect’s spatial outcome.
You can redirect the area of effect anywhere within the attacker’s normal range, as long as the new location is valid for the effect.
If the effect had a target point (such as Fireball), you can set that point anywhere within its normal range- including directly beneath the caster.
If it was an attack, you can instead negate it entirely or redirect it toward a creature of your choice within 30 feet of the attacker.
You can use this a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier, regaining all uses on a short or long rest. You can also regain one use of it by expending a spell slot of 2nd level or higher.
Rift Jaunt
"Reality is a tapestry, and you've learned to pull at more than one thread at once."
Rift Step
As a bonus action, you can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.
If you appear adjacent to a creature, that creature takes force damage equal to your Intelligence modifier as the air around you snaps back into place.
Warped Casting
When you cast a spell that targets only one creature, you can instead choose two creatures within 10 feet of each other. The spell’s energy splits through the space between them—each makes its own saving throw (if applicable), and each takes the full effect on a failure.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest, or you expend a spell slot of 2nd level or higher to use it again.
Dimensional Reserve
"Each spell you cast rewrites the world. And sometimes, it thanks you for it."
Your spells begin to feed energy back into the folds of reality you’ve torn.
When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher that affects one or more creatures, roll 1d6.
If the number rolled is equal to or lower than your proficiency bonus, you regain one use of Fold Step or Dimensional Refraction.
Rift Cleaver
"Everything breaks along the right line, if you can see the coordinates."
At the height of your mastery, you can split space itself- cleaving through matter, energy, and even the laws that bind them.
As an action, you can expend a spell slot and make a ranged spell attack against any number of creatures within a range equal to 10 × your Intelligence modifier (minimum 10 feet).
Choose one of the following effects:
Dismantle
Each creature you hit takes 1d10 force damage for every creature you targeted with this attack.
Severance
Each creature you hit takes 1d10 force damage per level of the spell slot expended.
Rift Cleaver
Choose one creature within range. You make a number of ranged spell attacks against that creature equal to the level of the spell slot expended.
On a hit, the creature takes Xd10 force damage, where X equals your Intelligence modifier.
If this damage reduces the creature to 0 hit points, it is annihilated and scattered across dimensional planes, dying instantly and leaving no remains.
Once you use Rift Cleaver in this way, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest, or you expend a 7th-level spell slot or higher to use it again. Each time you use it in this way after the first time per long rest, you take xd8 psychic damage, where X equals your intelligence modifier.
