Base Class: Sorcerer
Those who know the signs of your kind often prefer not to anger you, afraid that your temper reflects that of your desert goddess, Cathara. Outside of Keshanar, Sorcerers with such affinities might have other sources for their magic, as the lightning-blasted Catharan desert is unique. Still, like their Keshen counterparts, practitioners often carry the fractal scarring of one struck by lightning. For many, the primal moment of the strike awoke their power.
Level 3: Desert Spells
When you reach a Sorcerer level specified in the Desert Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Sorcerer Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Flame Blade, Hellish Rebuke, Scorching Ray, Searing Smite |
| 5 | Fireball, Lightning Bolt |
| 7 | Cathara’s Rage*, Wall of Fire |
| 9 | Electronarcosis*, Flame Strike |
Level 3: Shifting Sands
When you cast a spell that does Lightning damage, you can change the damage type to Fire. When you cast a spell that does Fire damage, you can change the damage type to Lightning. You can only make this change at the time of casting.
Level 6: Roiling Storm
You have Resistance to Lightning and Fire damage. Additionally, while your innate sorcery is active, Sorcerer spells you cast ignore Resistance to Lightning and Fire damage.
Level 14: Rage of the Desert
When you roll dice for Fire or Lightning damage from a spell you cast, you can treat any 1 or 2 on a damage die for Fire or Lightning damage from a spell as a 3.
Level 18: Incarnation of the Desert Storm
When you activate your Innate Sorcery feature, you can choose to become an avatar of the desert for 1 minute, taking on the appearance of a roiling storm of fire and lightning. While in this form, you are Immune to Fire and Lightning damage, have a Fly Speed equal to your Walking Speed, can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch, and shed Bright Light 30 feet and Dim Light an additional 30 feet. In addition, spell attack rolls for spells that deal Fire or Lightning damage increase by 1, and the Spell Save DC of spells that deal Fire or Lightning damage increases by 1. Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you complete a Long Rest or spend 5 Sorcery Points to restore your use of it.
