Base Class: Ranger
"The beasts of the Nightlord boast scales of meteoric iron and hides thick with the ash of the fallen. But every armor has a seam. You only need the eye to see it, and the iron will to strike."
In the suffocating fog of the Nightreign, where the light of the Erdtree is but a distant memory, survival often depends on striking before the enemy even knows you are there. The Ironeye Sniper is an archetype born from the Fellowship’s most elite and feared assassins. They earned the moniker 'Ironeye' not through magic, but through their cold, split-second judgment and their uncanny ability to spot a target's most fleeting weakness in the dark.
Rather than relying on volleys of arrows, the Ironeye is a master of calculated distance. They utilize a tactical "Marking" system to systematically dismantle the poise of even the largest dragons or Nightlords. To play an Ironeye is to be the ultimate overwatch for your allies—pinning down the horrors of the dark, exposing their vulnerabilities, and delivering a single, world-shattering shot when the time is right.
Ironeye's Mark
At 3rd level, you learn to scrutinize your foes, finding the hairline fractures in their armor or the hesitation in their gait. As a bonus action, you can mark one creature you can see within 90 feet of you as your priority target.
For the next minute, whenever the marked target takes damage from any source, it takes an extra 1d6 damage of the same type. The horrors of the Nightreign are relentless, but so is your focus; whenever you or a friendly creature hits the marked target with an attack, the duration of the mark resets to 1 minute.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Eagle Eye
By 7th level, your keenly observant eye misses nothing in the gloom of the Realm of Shadow. You gain proficiency in the Perception skill if you don't already have it. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses Perception.
Furthermore, your history of scavenging the battlefields of the Shattering has honed your ability to discover what others overlook. You gain a +2 bonus to Intelligence (Investigation) checks made to search for loot, hidden valuables, or concealed caches on the fallen.
Suppressing Fire
At 11th level, your arrows carry the heavy, authoritative weight of the Fellowship. You learn to pin your enemies to the ground, denying them the mobility they need to strike your allies.
Whenever you hit a creature affected by your Ironeye's Mark with a ranged weapon attack, the sheer force of the blow suppresses them. The target's speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of your next turn, and it cannot take reactions for the same duration.
Single Shot
At 15th level, you master the absolute pinnacle of the sniper's art. You can draw back your bowstring with the supernatural strength of the ancient heroes, firing a supersonic projectile that pierces all earthly and magical barriers.
As an action, you can unleash your Single Shot. You fire an arrow or bolt in a line that is 100 feet long and 5 feet wide. Make a separate ranged weapon attack against every creature in that line. This attack ignores half cover, three-quarters cover, and total cover.
On a hit, the target takes your normal weapon damage plus an additional 10d10 force damage, and the creature is knocked prone. This shot is so devastating that the force damage dealt by this attack ignores all damage resistances.
Once you use this Ultimate Art, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
