Base Class: Barbarian
This is an update/fix of the Nautical 'Path of the Depths' Barbarian subclass from the League of Legends x D&D 'Dark Tides of Bilgewater' crossover for D&D 5.5e.
Encounters with the terrors of the deep can break the minds of the weak-willed, but some forge their trauma into weapons never seen above the waves. The barbarian who walks this path has survived such an encounter and has gained extraordinary abilities from the experience.
Level 3: Gift of the Drowned Ones
You gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed and can breathe underwater.
Level 3: Dredge Line
When you enter Rage, you manifest an ethereal apparition above you which lasts for the duration of your rage. This apparition can appear as a kraken tentacle, a giant anchor, a pair of huge jaws, or something else based on your history.
As a bonus action, you can direct this apparition to drag one creature of size Large or smaller which you can see within 30 feet towards you. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Strength modifier) or be pulled up to 25 feet in a straight line towards you.
Level 6: Ghostwater Dive
Whilst in your Rage, you can instantly travel short distances in a burst of water. Once per turn, when you take the attack action on your turn, you can teleport up to 30 feet before you attack.
Level 10: Gifts of the Abyss
Your body shifts and mutates, affected by the deep waters whose power you channel. When you finish a Long Rest, you can gain the benefits of one of the following adaptations, which lasts until you choose a new adaptation with this feature.
Chitinous Crust
Your skin hardens, increasing your Armor Class by 1 and granting you resistance to Cold Damage.
Eldritch Echolocation
You gain blindsight up to 30 feet. Additionally, you can cast True Seeing on yourself without using a spell slot. When you use this ability, you cannot do so again until you finish a Long Rest.
Freshwater Ward
If you have not lost any Hit Points in the past minute, you can use a bonus action to grant yourself Temporary Hit Points equal to your Barbarian level.
Grasp of the Deep
While raging, you now manifest a set of ethereal appendages, which can be tentacles, an anchor and chain, animated rigging, or another grasping arm of your choice. If you successfully drag a target using Dredge Line, you can instantly grapple it using these appendages. Only one creature can be grappled by these appendages at a time.
Level 14: Depth Charge
Whenever you use Ghostwater Dive, you can choose to appear with a wave of tidal force, forcing every creature within 10 feet of the space you teleport to make a Strength saving throw (DC equal to 8+ your Proficiency Bonus + your Strength modifier). On a failed save a creature takes 6d6 force damage and is knocked prone. On a successful save, a creature takes half damage and is not knocked prone.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Strength modifier (minimum once), and regain all expended uses when you finish a Short or Long Rest.
