Base Class: Bard
Bards of the College of Eloquence understand that words are never neutral. In the great cities of the surface, they are tools of persuasion, debate, and scholarship. In the depths of the Underdark—within the ruthless halls of Menzoberranzan—they are weapons sharpened through survival.
For a scion of House Baenre, language was never ornamental. Every phrase carried consequence, every hesitation invited danger. Raised among layered meanings, veiled threats, and performances of power, such a bard learns early that the difference between truth and fiction is often a matter of delivery.
Having abandoned that world, the rhetor of two worlds does not forget it. Instead, they refine it—transforming coercion into persuasion, dominance into influence, and fear into authority. In lecture halls and salons, they appear composed, articulate, even charming. But beneath the surface lies a discipline forged where words could kill.
Measured Discourse (Silver Tongue)
When you make a Charisma (Persuasion) or Charisma (Deception) check, a roll of 9 or lower counts as a 10.
Your words are never clumsy. Even hesitation is shaped into intent, every pause calculated, every sentence deliberate.
Disquieting Rhetoric (Unsettling Words)
As a bonus action, choose a creature within 60 feet that can hear you. Expend one use of Bardic Inspiration and roll the die. The next saving throw the creature makes before the start of your next turn is reduced by the number rolled.
You do not shout. You do not threaten. You introduce a single, precise doubt—and allow it to unravel everything else.
Enduring Argument (Unfailing Inspiration)
If a creature uses your Bardic Inspiration and the roll fails, the Bardic Inspiration die is not expended.
A flawed argument can be reframed. A failed attempt can be refined. Your guidance persists until it takes hold.
Transcendent Lecture (Universal Speech)
As an action, choose a number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier within 60 feet. For 1 hour, they understand you regardless of language.
You have studied not just language, but meaning itself—structure, cadence, intent. Words become secondary to comprehension.
Contagious Thesis (Infectious Inspiration)
When a creature adds your Bardic Inspiration die to a roll, you can use your reaction to grant another creature within 60 feet a Bardic Inspiration die without expending a use. You can do this a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per long rest.
A powerful idea does not stop with one mind. It spreads, adapts, and takes root wherever it finds purchase.
