Base Class: Ranger
The Conclave of Ballistic Evolution teaches that nature does not waste motion. Every strike, leap, sprint and impact follows principles refined across millions of years of adaptation. Rangers who follow this conclave study how living creatures optimize force transmission, minimize wasted movement and exploit momentum.
Practitioners replicate the tendon recoil of predators, the micro-adjustments of avian hunters and the impact physics of charging megafauna. Some focus on explosive acceleration, others on redirection of force and others on predictive targeting behavior derived from pack predators.
Members of this Conclave rarely appear overtly magical. Their abilities manifest as heightened efficiency, unnatural reflexes and precise kinetic output that feels inevitable rather than flashy. Observers often note that these rangers move with unsettling inevitability, as if each motion was determined before the battle even began.
Kinetic Adaptation
Beginning at 3rd level, your body adapts to emulate evolutionary advantages observed in nature. Choose Adaptation below. You may change your chosen Adaptation whenever you finish a long rest.
These adaptations represent your study of real biological force optimization rather than magical transformation.
Distributed Awareness
You gain proficiency in Perception if you do not already have it.
You gain advantage on initiative rolls.
Raptorial Precision
You gain +2 bonus to attack rolls made against creatures that have not yet taken a turn in combat.
Once per turn, when you hit a creature that is below its hit point maximum, you deal an additional 1d4.
Tendon Recoil Mechanics
Your walking speed increases by 10 feet.
When you move at least 20 feet toward a creature and hit it with a weapon attack on the same turn, the attack deals an extra 1d6 damage.
Trajectory Prediction
At 7th level, your understanding of movement allows you to anticipate motion before it completes.
When a creature you can see moves within 30 feet of you, you may use your reaction to move up to half your speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
If this movement places you within reach of the triggering creature, you may make one weapon attack against it as part of the same reaction.
You may use this reaction a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier per long rest.
Force Transfer Optimization
At 11th level, your attacks channel kinetic force with minimal energy loss.
Once per turn when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you may increase the bonus damage by 1d8.
If the target is large or larger, increase the bonus damage to 1d10.
If the target moves at least 10 feet before your attack hits, increase the bonus damage to 1d12.
Perfected Motion
At 15th level, your movement and attacks operate at peak biological efficiency.
you gain the following benefits:
1. Opportunity attacks against you are made at disadvantage.
2. Once per turn when you miss an attack, you may reroll the attack roll.
3. When you roll initiative and have no uses of Trajectory Prediction remaining, you regain one use.
Additionally, when you deal bonus damage from Force Transfer Optimization, you may choose to push the target up to 10 feet away from you.
