Psychic Dragon Slayers are the rarest and most feared of their kind, born not from the conquest of flesh, but from dominion over thought itself. Their origins are whispered in half-truths—of ancient dragons whose power lay not in flame or claw, but in their ability to unravel minds, bend perception, and command reality through sheer will. Those who sought to slay such creatures could not rely on strength alone; they had to understand them. Through dangerous rituals and prolonged exposure to draconic consciousness, these slayers learned to consume not the body of the dragon, but its mind—absorbing fragments of memory, instinct, and power. In doing so, they became something profoundly altered, their thoughts no longer entirely their own.

In Izarth, Psychic Dragon Slayers are often met with unease, for their presence is rarely loud or obvious, yet always deeply felt. Conversations falter around them, instincts sharpen, and even the strongest wills feel subtly tested. Some are said to hear echoes—whispers of ancient dragons, or perhaps something far older, lingering just beyond the veil of thought. Many believe they are uniquely attuned to forces like the Cult of Shar, capable of sensing manipulation, illusion, and hidden influence where others would see nothing at all. But this power comes at a cost, for the deeper they delve into the minds of others, the more fragile their own sense of self becomes. In time, a Psychic Dragon Slayer must confront a terrifying question: where do their own thoughts end, and the dragon’s begin?
