Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Stone Heart draw their strength from the enduring power of the earth. They learn to root themselves like mountains, endure like stone, and strike with the force of shifting tectonic plates. Where other monks rely on speed and fluid motion, these warriors stand firm, shaping the battlefield and overwhelming their foes with relentless, crushing force.

Stone Stance

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can root yourself to the ground, becoming an immovable force. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 ki point to enter a stone stance, which lasts for 1 minute or until you are incapacitated.

While in this stance, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on Strength and Dexterity saving throws made to resist being knocked prone or moved against your will.

  • You cannot be forcibly moved against your will unless you are incapacitated.

  • Your speed is reduced by 10 feet.

You can end this stance early (no action required).

Earth Aspects

Beginning at 3rd level, you learn specialized techniques called Earth Aspects that enhance your Stone Strike.

You learn two Earth Aspects of your choice from the list below. You learn one additional Earth Aspect at 6th, 11th, and 17th level.

When you hit a creature with your Stone Strike, you can apply one Earth Aspect you know to that attack.

A creature can only be forced to make one saving throw per Stone Strike. If multiple Aspects would require a saving throw, you choose which one applies.

If an Earth Aspect requires a saving throw, the DC equals your Ki save DC.

Earth Aspects

Driving Force

When you hit a creature with your Stone Strike, you can force it to make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is pushed up to 10 feet directly away from you.

Crushing Impact

When you hit a creature with your Stone Strike, it takes extra bludgeoning damage equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1).

Shattering Spread

When you hit a creature with your Stone Strike, shards of stone scatter from the impact. Each creature of your choice within 5 feet of the target takes bludgeoning damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die.

Toppling Shot

(6th Level Required)

When you hit a creature with your Stone Strike, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Earthen Snare

(6th Level Required)

When you hit a creature with your Stone Strike, the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or have its speed reduced to 0 until the start of your next turn.

Rising Bulwark

(6th Level Required)

Immediately after you make a Stone Strike, you can raise a fragment of earth to defend yourself. You gain half cover until the start of your next turn.

Rolling Barrage

(6th Level Required)

When you hit a creature with your Stone Strike, you can spend 1 ki point to target a second creature within 10 feet of the original target. Make a separate Stone Strike attack against that creature.

When you hit a creature with your Stone Strike, you can attune to its movements. For 1 minute, you know the location of that creature while it is in contact with the same ground or surface as you.

Avalanche Force

(11th Level Required)

When you hit a creature with your Stone Strike, it is pushed up to 20 feet directly away from you and knocked prone.

Fault Line

(11th Level Required)

When you make a Stone Strike, you can spend 2 ki points to strike the ground in a line. Each creature in a 15-foot-long, 5-foot-wide line originating from you must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking bludgeoning damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. A creature that fails the saving throw is also knocked prone.

Meteor Strike

(11th Level Required)

When you hit a creature with your Stone Strike, you can spend 2 ki points to empower the impact. The attack deals additional bludgeoning damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die, and the ground in a 10-foot radius centered on the target becomes difficult terrain until the end of your next turn.

Ironbreaker

(11th Level Required)

Once per turn, your Stone Strike ignores resistance to bludgeoning damage. In addition, when you hit a construct or a creature wearing heavy armor, it takes extra bludgeoning damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die.
