Base Class: Fighter
Practitioners of the Fractured Form are warriors of a forgotten discipline. They do not wield magic, but instead brush against the hidden strands that bind possibility into reality.
Where others commit to a single action, a Fractured Form Adept glimpses branching outcomes and, for a fleeting instant, reveals them all. To their enemies, each motion becomes uncertain—multiple strikes seem to occur at once, defenses rise against attacks that never land, and the true blow slips through unseen.
These warriors do not alter time or conjure illusions. They expose what could have been, layering possibility over reality until only one outcome remains—the one their enemy failed to anticipate.
Level 3: Fractured Warrior
You learn to expose multiple possible versions of your actions, obscuring your true intent in combat, through Fracture Surges.
Fracture Surges
You have a pool of Fracture Surges representing your ability to brush against the strands of fate.
- You have a number of Fracture Surges equal to your Proficiency Bonus.
- You regain all expended surges when you finish a Long Rest.
You may use these Fracture Surges to fuel 2 possibilities. Fractured Defense or Fractured Strike.
You have 2 Fracture Surges when you take this subclass. A Fractured Surge is expended when you use it. You regain all expended Fracture Surges when you finish a Long Rest.
You gain an additional Fracture Surges when you reach Fighter levels 5 (three surges), 9 (four surges), 13 (five surges), and 17 (six surges).
Level 3: Fractured Surges
As you have learned to tap into the strands of possibility and fate, you have become capable to fold them into your strikes and defense.
Level 7: Fractured Form
Your awareness of branching outcomes becomes instinctive, allowing you to subtly correct a previous failure, to reorient fate to the correct chain of possibility.
Once per turn, when you miss a creature with a weapon attack, you gain a +1 bonus to the next attack roll you make against that creature before the end of your next turn.
Level 10: Cascade of Possibilities
Your mastery over the fractured strands of fate deepens, allowing you to sustain your manipulation of possibility for longer and with greater intensity.
Your Fractured Surges now have an enhanced versions.
Level 15: Fractured Convergence
Your connection to the hidden strands of possibility grows steadier, no longer something you merely grasp in fleeting moments, but something you can reliably return to.
Where once your insight into fractured outcomes came in brief flashes, you now instinctively realign yourself with the weave of potential, drawing upon it even in the chaos of battle.
- When you roll initiative, you regain one expended Fracture Surge.
- You also regain one expended Fracture Surge when you finish a short rest.
Level 15: Hidden Strike
You have mastered concealing your true action within a storm of false ones.
Once per turn, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack as part of the Attack action, you can expend one Fracture Surge to make it a Hidden Strike.
Choose one of the following effects:
- Perfect Blow: The attack deals maximum weapon damage.
- Unsteady Defense: The target has disadvantage on all attack rolls against you until the end of its next turn.
- Hampered Motion: The target’s speed is halved until the start of your next turn.
Level 18: Moment of Convergence
You take a Bonus Action and expend two Fracture Surges. To enter a state of extended connection with all the strands of possibility you can create, manifesting in disorienting string of possible motions. You are in this state until the end of your next turn.
You can use Fractured Strike once per turn without expending a Fracture Surge.
You can use Fractured Defense once per round without expending a Fracture Surge, even if you have already used your reaction this round.
Opportunity attacks against you are made with disadvantage.
