Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

To most, reality is a set of unbreakable laws: gravity holds, time flows forward, and space remains constant. But for those on the Path of Fundamental Chaos, these laws are merely suggestions. Often the result of exposure to a collapsing star, a rift in the Astral Sea, a accident or exposure to dunamis, a brush with a god of entropy, or by some completely random unexplainable reason these warriors host a fractured "singularity" within their own spirits. When their rage flares, it doesn't just grant them strength—it forces the universe to hiccup. Their weapons don't just strike; they fold space. Their presence doesn't just intimidate; it warps time and crushes the earth. A Barbarian of this path is a living glitch in the material plane, a shimmering, terrifying reminder that at its core, existence is beautifully, violently unpredictable.

Chaos Burst

  • You can channel unstable energy through your strikes. You have a number of uses of this feature equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can expend one use to deal extra damage. The number of dice you roll is equal to your Rage Damage bonus starting at d4s and increasing to d6s at 6th level and d8s at 14th level. The damage type is determined by rolling on the Chaos Damage Table.

Chaos Damage (d8): 1-Lightning, 2-Force, 3-Cold, 4-Fire, 5-Psychic, 6-Thunder, 7-Poison, 8-Acid.

Fundamental Force

When you enter your rage, you warp reality around you. Roll a d4 1 gravity 2 space 3 time 4 luck to determine which Fundamental Force manifests. You gain that force's Aura benefit immediately.

1. Gravity

Your body becomes a crushing anchor in the weave of reality. As you enter your rage, the air around you grows heavy and thick, and light seems to bend toward your form. You generate a 15-foot aura of intense gravitational pull.

Any creature that starts its turn within this aura must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 8+PB+Con modifier).

  • On a failure: The creature is pulled 10 feet toward you in a straight line and has disadvantage on any attack roll that isn't against you until the start of its next turn, as your gravity disrupts their balance and aim.

  • On a success: The creature resists the pull and suffers no disadvantage.

2.Space

As you channel the void, your physical form becomes "less there," flickering like a distorted image in reality. The glass shards in your head turn transparent, and your movements leave faint ripples in the air.

While this force is active, you are partially out of phase with the material plane, and you do not provoke opportunity attacks. Furthermore, whenever you reduce a creature to 0 hit points or land a critical hit, you can instantly fold space to your advantage. When this happens, you can immediately teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.

3. Time

Your movements become erratic, flickering with blue and red after-images as you exist across multiple seconds at once. This chronal instability creates a field of sluggish time around you that drains the momentum of your enemies. You generate a 15-foot aura of flickering time. Any creature that starts its turn within this aura must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + PB + Con modifier}. On a failure, the creature’s speed is halved and it loses its reaction until the start of its next turn as it struggles to keep up with the shifting flow of time.

4.Luck

You become a walking glitch in the laws of probability. Rainbow sparks leap from your skin and weapons, and for a moment, the "impossible" becomes "likely."

While this force is active, you and all allies within 10 feet of you are buoyed by chaotic fortune. You and those allies can add a d4 to all attack rolls and saving throws. This effect represents the universe nudging outcomes in your favor, turning near-misses into hits and narrow failures into successes.

Fundamental Potency

Your connection to the fundamental forces deepens. You gain a new active ability based on the Force you rolled when you entered your Rage.

1.Gravity

You anchor yourself to the fabric of reality. While this force is active, you cannot be knocked prone or moved against your will by any means short of teleportation.

Additionally, when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can spend a Chaos Burst. The target takes the Chaos Burst damage plus an extra 1d8 Force damage and must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + PB + Con modifier). or be knocked prone as gravity crushes them into the earth.

2.Space

You can reach through the folds of reality to strike enemies where they feel safest. While this force is active, your reach with melee weapon attacks is considered 60 feet, as you open small wormholes to deliver your blows.

When you hit a creature with an attack made this way, you can expend one use of your Chaos Burst. The target takes the normal Chaos Burst damage plus an additional 1d8 force damage. If the target is an object or a creature of Large size or smaller, you can choose to move it up to 10 feet in any direction to an unoccupied space.

3.Time

You begin to move with a staggered, flickering motion, appearing in several places at once. While this force is active, you can use a Bonus Action and expend one use of your Chaos Burst to enter a state of Hyper Rage until the end of your next turn.

While in this state, your movement speed is doubled, you gain a +2 bonus to AC, and you gain one additional attack whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

4.Luck

Dreadful Misfortune. You weave a web of misfortune around your enemies, making their own failures catastrophic. While this force is active, when a creature within 30 feet of you misses you with an attack, you can use your Reaction and expend one use of your Chaos Burst.

The attacking creature must immediately make an attack roll against itself using its own statistics. On a hit, the creature takes damage as if it had hit itself, but the damage is halved.

Erratic Defense

When you are hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to roll a d4 and trigger a defensive anomaly based on a Fundamental Force.

You can use this feature once for free, regaining the use after a short or long rest. You can also expend a Chaos Burst to use it again.

1.Gravity

Reaction: Attacker suddenly slows; they MISS the attack and fall Prone.

2.Space

Reaction: Gain resistance to the triggering attack's damage. and teleport the attacker up to 30ft away.

3.Time

Reaction: Gain resistance to this attack. Attacker's speed halved and they can only make one attack until end of their next turn.

4.Luck

The enemy misses and you gain temporary hit points equal to your barbarian level plus your con modifier

Fundamental Mastery

Your control over the laws of the universe reaches its peak. You gain a mastery ability based on your current active Fundamental Force.

1.Gravity (Singularity Assault)

Once per turn, when you hit with a melee weapon attack, you can deal an extra 2d8 Force damage. Additionally, every creature of your choice within 30 feet of that target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + PB + Con mod) or be pulled to the nearest unoccupied space adjacent to the target.

2.Space (Scattering Blow)

Your Wormhole Strikes now tear through the fabric of reality. When you use Wormhole Strike, you can force the target to make a Charisma saving throw (DC = 8 + PB + Con mod). On a failure, the target is teleported along with your strike to a location of your choice within 30 feet of their original position.

3.Time (Acceleration Wave)

As an action, you release a pulse of chronal energy. Choose up to 10 creatures you can see. For 1 round, their speed is doubled, they gain +2 AC, and they gain one additional action (Attack [one hit only], Dash, Disengage, or Hide)

4.Luck (Mark of the Messy End)

When you hit or miss an attack, you can spend a Chaos Burst to mark the target with inevitable doom. Until the start of your next turn, any attack roll made against that creature scores a critical hit on a roll of 18, 19, or 20.
