Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

For some Barbarians, it is taught that the well being of the tribe takes top priority over all else. The Path of the Feast Bringer is one of an ancient tradition of sustenance and indulgence. They are the backbone of their tribes, for a hungry warrior is as good as a dead one.

At home, they can be found near the fire preparing ritual ingredients for a meal before battle. But once in the fray, these Barbarians call upon their rage to quickly digest their enemies’ sinew into magical boons to aid and strengthen their allies on the battlefield. The Feast Bringer provides for their tribe at all costs, and those who would stand in their way are likely to become a part of their next meal.

When you choose this Path at 3rd Level, you gain proficiency with Cook's Utensils

Consume Flesh and Blood

Starting when you choose this Path at 3rd Level, your rage gives you a heightened sense of taste, strengthening your palette. While raging, when you deal damage to a creature with a melee attack, you may consume some of the raw flesh or blood left on your weapon from the attack. Make a Constitution Saving Throw. If you've already benefited from that creature type this encounter, you can count your proficiency bonus twice for this roll. The DC for this roll is based on the CR of your target:

On a failed save, you suffer a debilitating effect, such as vomiting or dizziness, which consumes any remaining movement for your turn. On a successful save, you gain a benefit that lasts until the end of your next turn, based on the Type of creature hit. You cannot benefit from this feature more than twice per round and its effects do not stack. This feature has no effect on Elementals, Undead, Oozes, or Constructs.

Aberration. The next time you hit with a weapon attack, your target takes an additional 1d12 Psychic damage.

Beast or Monstrosity. Add 1d4 to your next attack and damage rolls.

Celestial. The next time you hit with a weapon attack, your weapon bursts in a flash of light, blinding your target until the start of its next turn.

Dragon. Gain resistance to the damage type associated with the dragon’s breath attack.

Fey. Gain advantage on the next saving throw you make against a magical effect.

Fiend. The next time you hit with a weapon attack, your weapon secretes a foul miasma, dealing an additional 1d12 necrotic damage.

Giant. Gain advantage on your next Strength Saving Throw.

Humanoid. Fueled by bloodthirst, the next time you hit with a weapon attack, restore 1d4 HP. This number increases when you reach 5th Level(1d6), 11th Level(1d8), and 17th Level(1d10).

Plant. Gain advantage on your next Saving Throw against being Blinded, Deafened, Paralyzed, or Poisoned.

Spoils of Victory

At 3rd Level, you can harvest the corpses of your enemies to create powerful feasts for your allies. Immediately after a combat encounter, make a Survival Check to harvest a number of dead creatures equal to half your Constitution modifier, rounded up (minimum 1), for useful ingredients. The DC for this check is 10 or half the CR of the target, whichever is higher. If you are proficient with both the Survival Skill and Cooking Tools, you can make this check with Advantage. Roll separately for each creature. On a failed save, the creature parts are deemed spoiled or unusable. On a successful save, you gain a main ingredient to cook with. You can store the harvested parts for up to 7 days before they become unusable.

During a Short or Long Rest, you can prepare a meal using one of your harvested parts as a Main Ingredient. The cost to prepare a meal this way is equal to the CR of the harvested creature X 5gp worth of spices & herbs to flavor the Main Ingredient. Your recipe makes enough to feed your entire party and will grant Temporary HP equal to the CR of the creature harvested for the main ingredient + your Barbarian Level. Additionally, consuming this meal during a Short Rest will restore one use of your Rage feature.

How to Cook your Dragon

A good chef is always on the lookout for new ways to prepare their meals. Your DM may provide you with special recipes that require multiple Main Ingredients for powerful effects!

Level 6: Feed the Tribe

At 6th Level, you can share the benefits of your bloodthirsty vigor with your allies. When you gain a benefit from Consume Flesh and Blood, choose a number of friendly creatures up to half your Constitution modifier, rounded up (minimum 1), that you can see. The chosen targets gain the same benefit, which will last until the end of your next turn.

Level 10: Expanded Palette

At 10th Level, you’ve cultivated an iron gut, able to digest some of the most foreign and exotic substances in the world. Consume Flesh and Blood now applies to Elementals, Undead, Oozes, and Constructs. The first time you benefit from this feature in an encounter, you may not benefit from other creature Types on the Expanded Palette Table until you spend a Short or Long Rest cleansing your palette.
