Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Fighters that follow the archetype of the Dominator believe all living things can be motivated by a single force: pain. A Dominator's strength comes from the pain they inflict; whether it be their own allies, whose fury they aim to heighten, their enemies, who they beat into submission, or even themselves.

Terrorize

3rd-level Dominator feature

You can instill terror in your victims with the simple crack of a whip and the searing pain that follows. Once per turn when you deal damage to a creature with a whip, you can deal 1d6 extra psychic damage to the target, and force the target to succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your Terrorize DC or be Charmed or Frightened by you (your choice when you use this feature) until the start of your next turn.

Your Terrorize DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier.

Unarmored Combatant

3rd-level Dominator feature

While you aren't wearing any armor or wielding a shield, you gain the following benefits:

Defense. Your base AC equals 10 plus your Dexterity modifier plus your Charisma modifier.

Whip Wielder. Whips you wield deal 1d8 damage, instead of 1d4. Additionally, when you are not in combat, you can choose to deal only 1 damage when you hit a creature with a whip.

Whipped Into Shape

3rd-level Dominator feature

As a bonus action, you can make one attack with a whip you are wielding against an ally within your reach. This attack automatically hits, but you do not add your modifier to the damage roll, and its damage cannot be reduced or negated in any way. Immediately after taking the attack's damage, the target can use its Reaction to move up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks and make one attack with a melee weapon or unarmed strike.

Binding Flourish

7th-level Dominator feature

When you use your Terrorize feature, you can attempt to bind the target with your whip, instead of charming or frightening it. The target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your Terrorize DC or it is grappled by you (save DC equal to your Terrorize DC). While grappled in this way, the target is also restrained, and it has disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws.

Mesmerizing Dance

10th-level Dominator feature

When you use your Whipped Into Shape feature, you can surround yourself or the target with a debilitating odor until the start of your next turn. For that duration, attack rolls against you or the target (whoever you chose) have disadvantage.

Sadistic Strikes

15th-level Dominator feature

You gain the following benefits:

Down, Dog. When you hit a creature with a whip, you can force the target to succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your Terrorize DC or be knocked Prone.

Scream for Me. When you score a critical hit with a whip against a creature, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Fighter level.

Adrenaline High. When you use Action Surge, your attacks are imbued with lethal sadistic energy for the duration of your turn, causing you to gain a bonus to damage rolls you make with whips equal to your Charisma modifier.

Level 18: Arcane Subjection

18th-level Dominator feature

Your dominating presence is now so powerful it manifests in the form of magic. You always have the Charm Monster and Dominate Monster spells prepared. You can cast each spell once, without a spell slot or Material components and using Charisma as the spellcasting ability. You must finish a long rest before you can cast each spell in this way again.

When you take the attack action, you can replace one of your attacks with a casting of Command, or you can replace two of your attacks with a casting of Suggestion or Tasha's Mind Whip, using Charisma as the spellcasting modifier. You can do so two times, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.
