Through special training, these monks are able to bring forth their inner dragon for their use. However, these monks begin to have a more draconic disposition and often lose their humanity, the ultimate shame on their training.

Fists of the elements

Beginning at 3rd level, you can choose to imbue your inner dragon’s element into your unarmed strikes. By doing this, you may add 1d4 of that element damage to your unarmed strikes. This costs 1 ki per d4, with a maximum of 3 ki. At level 17 the maximum is 5 ki.

Draconic Resilience

Stating at 6th level, you gain resistance to your inner dragon’s damage type. In addition, you begin to age at the same rate as a dragon. In addition, as a reaction, you may attempt to deflect the damage type. When doing this, you subtract 1d10 + your dexterity modifier from the attack damage. If this exceeds the damage amount, you may gain temporary hit points equal to the amount exceeded, with the maximum being 5. At level 11 you may roll 2d10 for this feature, and at 17th 3d10.

Element of the Dragon

Your bond with your inner dragon's element is growing stronger. Starting at 11th level, you gain one cantrip of your inner dragon's element. Wisdom is your spell casting ability, and you may choose one of your element's two cantrips listed below.

Fire. Firebolt or Create Bonfire

Poison. Infestation or Poison Spray

Cold. Frostbite or Ray of Frost

Lightning. Lightning Lure or Shocking Grasp

Acid. Acid Splash or Primal Savagery

Draconic Features

As you continue to bond with your draconic self, you start to look more like your inner dragon. Beginning at 11th level, you may choose how you change and what features are different. Additionally, you begin to grow scales, adding 2 to your armor class. You also gain 30 feet of darkvision. If you already have darkvision, you may add this to your original amount.

Body of the Dragon

Your training through the ways of your dragon have made it so the you can now transform into your inner dragon. Starting at 17th level, twice per long rest, you can now use an action to transform into your chosen dragon for 5 minutes and gain the following benefits:

  • You gain a flying speed of 30 feet
  •  You gain resistance to bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing from nonmagical attacks that aren't silvered
  • For the duration of the transformation, you are able to speak draconic
  •  Your claws give extra damage to your unarmed strikes, allowing them to deal 1d6 instead of 1d4
  •  You may spend 2 ki to gain 1d4 temporary hit points
  •  You are now able to use your dragon's breath weapon. You may spend 3 ki to exhale your inner dragon's element. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 4d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. Use the following table for details.
