Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Where others harden themselves against injury, the Painseeker revels in it. You fight through wounds and harm like a being possessed, the sight of your own blood intensifying your rage.

Pain Aura

Starting when you choose this Path at 3rd level, you emit an aura of delightful suffering. While raging, you may take a reaction to redirect damage from any other creature within 10 feet of you to yourself. When you take damage in this way, you cannot reduce or prevent the damage taken in any way.

If there is any creature within your reach, you must make one melee attack as part of this reaction.

Pain Mastery

Beginning at 3rd level, If you have resistance to a damage type, you may choose to receive full damage whenever taking damage of that type.

While you have half or fewer of your maximum hit points remaining, all of your melee attacks roll an additional dice (of the weapon's damage die) when dealing damage.

Shrug it Off

Beginning at 6th level, Whenever you fail a saving throw, you may roll and expend one of your hit dice to re-attempt the save. You take Necrotic damage equal to double the result of your hit die roll, which can't be prevented. You may only use this feature once per turn.

If you are raging, you may add your Rage Damage modifier to your new saving throw.

Aura Control

Beginning at 10th level, your Pain Aura expands to 30 feet. If you choose not to make a melee attack, you may redirect damage from another creature within your aura to yourself without using your reaction. You may only redirect damage this way once per turn.

Empowering Masochism

Also at 10th level, you gain additional benefits at certain breakpoints of health. While your health is low enough, you gain the feature listed as well as any features above:

  • While at 3/4 health or lower, you have advantage on all saving throws made to resist damage, regardless of other effects of the saving throw.
  • While at 1/2 health or lower, you may make one additional attack when taking the Attack action.
  • While at 1/4 health or lower, you have resistance to all damage.

On My Own Terms

Beginning at 14th level, when you are reduced to 0 hit points while raging, you immediately regain half of your maximum hit points and your rage ends. At the end of your next turn, you are reduced to 1 hit point.

Whenever you succeed a saving throw using your Relentless Rage feature, you may choose to immediately end your rage.

Whenever you start your turn with 1 hit point without being in a rage, all melee attacks that hit a creature this turn are automatically critical hits. At the end of this turn, you die, and cannot be resurrected by any means besides a True Resurrection spell.
