Base Class: Fighter
The battlefield is a puzzle, and the Adaptive Armiger is its solver.
Bound to a semi-sentient astral construct known as an Armature, these warriors wage war through constant evolution. Every clash, every strike, and every enemy encountered is analyzed, catalogued, and overcome through rapid adaptation. To an observer, an Armiger's weapon appears impossibly fluid—its form and function shifting from moment to moment as the Armature identifies the most efficient method of victory.
Some Armatures manifest as swarms of metallic scarabs that assemble into weapons and armor. Others appear as luminous astral machinery, crystalline constructs, living star-metal, or relics from forgotten civilizations drifting through the Astral Sea. Regardless of their form, all Armatures share a singular purpose: to learn, adapt, and survive.
Where other fighters spend years mastering a single weapon, an Adaptive Armiger masters the principles behind all weapons. A sword becomes a hammer. A spear becomes a cannon. A defensive stance transforms into an overwhelming assault in the span of a heartbeat. Through perfect synchronization with their Armature, these warriors can alter their fighting style faster than most opponents can react.
As an Adaptive Armiger grows in power, the distinction between warrior and Armature begins to fade. What begins as a partnership becomes a fusion of instinct and machine-like precision. By the height of their abilities, an Armiger no longer chooses the correct tactic—they become the embodiment of adaptation itself, a living weapon capable of reshaping its methods to meet any challenge.
Level 3: Living Arsenal
3rd-Level Adaptive Armiger Feature
Your bond with your Armature grants unparalleled mastery over martial techniques.
Dual Configuration:
Whenever you make an attack with a weapon that possesses a Mastery property, you may apply up to two Mastery properties to that attack instead of one.
Both Mastery properties must be ones you currently know through the Weapon Mastery feature.
If multiple applied Masteries force a saving throw, only one saving throw can be imposed by that attack.
Integrated Defense:
The Armature constantly reinforces vulnerable points in your armor and predicts incoming strikes.
While you are wearing armor, you gain a +1 bonus to your Armor Class.
Armature Weapon:
Your weapon is replaced by the Armature’s Manifestation System:
- It counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity.
- It can transform into any weapon form required to execute a chosen mastery effect (blade, hammer, spear, whip, etc.).
- You are considered proficient with it while it is manifested.
Adaptive Exoskeleton
7th-Level Adaptive Armiger Feature
Adaptive Exoskeleton
The Armature extends defensive systems across your body, reinforcing you with reactive astral plating.
You gain the following benefits:
- You gain resistance to force damage.
- You have advantage on saving throws against being knocked prone or moved against your will.
Reactive Plating
When you take damage from a creature you can see, you can use your reaction to generate temporary defensive mass.
You gain temporary hit points equal to twice your Fighter level.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Aeronautical System
10th-Level Adaptive Armiger Feature
Aeronautical System:
The Armature integrates full mobility protocols into your combat chassis.
- You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed.
- You can hover.
Adaptive Momentum:
When you successfully apply a weapon mastery effect to a creature, you may move up to 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.
Level 15: Evolutionary Singularity
15th-Level Adaptive Armiger Feature
Your Armature has catalogued nearly every form of martial combat.
Whenever you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you may choose a Mastery property after the attack hits rather than when the attack is declared.
In addition, you may apply any Weapon Mastery property in the game, even if you do not currently know that Mastery.
Full Synchronszation
18th-Level Adaptive Armiger Feature
Your consciousness and Armature become perfectly aligned.
As a Bonus Action, you enter a state of Full Synchronisation for 1 minute. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a Long Rest.
While synchronised:
- Your weapon attacks deal extra force damage equal to your proficiency bonus.
- You may apply up to three Mastery properties to each weapon attack.
- You may choose Mastery properties after an attack hits.
- Creatures have disadvantage on saving throws caused by your Mastery properties.
