Base Class: Rogue
Sharpshooters are rogues who turn distance into a weapon. Specializing in precision strikes from impossible ranges, they rely on patience, preparation, and deadly accuracy rather than speed or brute force. A Sharpshooter waits for the perfect moment, studies the battlefield for weakness, and ends fights with a single devastating shot.
To a Sharpshooter, movement is distraction and haste is failure. Remaining calm and perfectly positioned allows them to line up attacks with terrifying precision, each passing moment making their next strike even deadlier. Their enemies often never see them at all, only the aftermath of a flawless shot delivered from afar.
Some Sharpshooters are elite military marksmen, others are assassins, bounty hunters, monster hunters, or wandering guns-for-hire. Whatever their origin, they share one defining trait: once a Sharpshooter has you in their sights, escape is almost impossible.
Level 3: Strike from Afar!
When you choose this Archetype at 3rd level, your training has allowed you to utilize marksmanship to lethal effectiveness. You gain benefits below.
Marksmen's Training: You gain proficiency with ranged martial weapons and advanced ranged weapons.
Eye for Distance: You gain proficiency in Perception, and can clearly see twice as far in all conditions.
Level 3: Deadeye Discipline
At 3rd level, when you use your Steady Aim feature, its benefits are enhanced. The next ranged weapon attack you make with advantage deals extra damage equal to a number of d8's equal to your Intelligence Modifier and you do not suffer Disadvantage for attacking at long range or while prone during this turn.
Additionally, if you are benefiting from the Invisible condition granted by the Hide action, making this attack does not end that condition. All other restrictions of Steady Aim still apply.
Level 9: Impeccable Timing
Beginning at 9th level, you have mastered the art of patience, positioning, and perfect timing.
At the start of each of your turns, if you have not moved since the start of your last turn, the extra damage dealt by your Sneak Attack increases by 2d6 with ranged weapon attacks. This increase is cumulative and can reach a maximum of 10d6. This additional damage is added to your Sneak Attack damage roll. The bonus resets to 0 immediately after you move from your space.
Level 13: Sharpshooter's Augment
Beginning at 13th level, your precision turns even the smallest opening into a devastating blow.
When you score a critical hit against a creature that qualifies for your Sneak Attack using a ranged weapon, you may target a specific body part of the creature.
Head: The creature has disadvantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma(your choice) saving throws and skill checks for until the start of your next turn.
Body: The creature has disadvantage on Constitution saving throws and skill checks for until the start of your next turn.
Arms: The creature has disadvantage on Strength saving throws and skill checks for until the start of your next turn.
Legs: The creature has disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws and skill checks for until the start of your next turn.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Additionally, while you have advantage on the attack roll, your ranged weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 against a creature that qualifies for your Sneak Attack.
Level 17: Perfected Execution
Beginning at 17th level, you have reached the pinnacle of lethal precision, able to identify and exploit a target’s single fatal weakness with impossible accuracy.
When you hit a creature with an ranged weapon attack that qualifies for your Sneak Attack, you can declare the attack an Execution Shot.
Execution Shot.
The attack ignores any resistance the target has to the attack’s damage. If the target has 100 hit points or fewer after taking the attack’s damage, it dies instantly. Otherwise, the target takes an additional 20d6 damage.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
