Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

A Fighter who embraces predatory ferocity, gaining natural weapons and the hit‑and‑run mobility of a stalking predator. The Beastclaw Warrior blends reliable martial training with savage, animal‑like strikes and battlefield repositioning.

Beastclaw Strike

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you manifest a pair of natural claws.

  • Claws. You gain two natural claw attacks. A claw is a finesse, light melee weapon that deals slashing damage. The claw’s damage die scales with your total character level: 1d6 at levels 1–4, 1d8 at levels 5–10, 1d10 at levels 11–16, and 1d12 at levels 17+. You may use Strength or Dexterity for attack and damage rolls with your claws. You are proficient with attacks made with your claws.

  • Counts as a Weapon. Your claws count as melee weapons for any feature that requires a weapon attack (for example, Extra Attack, Action Surge, Sneak Attack, Divine Smite). They are natural weapons, not manufactured weapons, unless the DM rules otherwise for specific magic items.

  • Two‑Weapon Use. Because your claws are light, you can use the Two‑Weapon Fighting rules with them. If you attack with one claw, you can use a bonus action to attack with the other claw and add your ability modifier to the damage of the bonus attack.

  • Natural Form. You can retract or manifest your claws as a free action. Wearing heavy armor does not automatically suppress your claws unless the DM rules a specific narrative or magical restriction.

  • Predator’s Step. You gain the benefits of the Mobile feat: +10 feet to your speed; when you make a melee attack against a creature, you do not provoke opportunity attacks from that creature for the rest of the turn, whether you hit or not; and difficult terrain doesn’t cost you extra movement on a Dash. In addition, when you use this benefit to avoid opportunity attacks after attacking a creature, you may move through that creature’s space as part of the same movement.

Predator's Focus

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, in addition to your Claws and Predator’s Step, you gain the following ability.

  • Predator’s Focus. As a bonus action, you enter a predator’s focus for up to 1 minute. While focused you gain the following benefits:

    • Hunting Momentum. If you move at least 10 feet on your turn immediately before making a claw attack against a creature, you make that first claw attack with advantage.

    • Predatory Resilience. Once per turn when you hit a creature with a claw attack while focused, you gain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus.

    • Quick End. You can end the focus early as a free action. The focus also ends if you are incapacitated or if you don heavy armor that your DM rules suppresses your natural form.

    • Uses and Recovery. You can use Predator’s Focus a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all uses when you finish a short or long rest.

Predator's Passage

Your predator’s movement becomes more fluid and battlefield‑aware.

  • Predator’s Passage. When you take the Dash action, you can move through a creature’s space that is at least one size larger than you. When you move through a creature’s space in this way, you do not provoke opportunity attacks for that movement.

  • Quick Evasion. Once per short rest, when a creature makes an opportunity attack against you and you would be hit, you can use your reaction to halve the attack’s damage and immediately move up to 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.

Brutal Claw

Your claw strikes become more vicious.

Savage Rip. When you hit a creature with a claw attack, you can deal extra slashing damage equal to 1d6. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all uses after a long rest.

Pouncing Assault

You combine attack and movement into a single, devastating pounce.

  • Pounce. When you take the Attack action and hit at least one creature with a claw attack during that action, you can immediately move up to half your speed as a free movement. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses on a long rest.

Apex Predator

You reach the peak of predatory prowess.

  • Rending Claws. Your claw damage increases by one step (for example, if your claws are 1d10, they become 2d10 for the purpose of damage dice; apply the increase once to the claw’s current die).

  • Relentless Strike. If you use the Predator’s Step benefit to avoid opportunity attacks from a creature after making a melee attack against it, you gain advantage on the first claw attack you make against that creature before the end of your turn.
