Artificer
Base Class: Artificer

An artificer of this specialty travels the world in search of the freshest and most exotic ingredients, ably defending themselves, their companions, and the provisions with the tools of their trade. Their skills at cooking and battle make them much sought-after companions of the road and they often find an honored place in armies or mercenary companies. Kings and emperors have gone to war to secure the services of the most skilled Iron Chefs.

Chef Training

3rd-Level Iron Chef Feature
You gain the Chef feat:

Chef
Time spent mastering the culinary arts has paid off , granting you the following benefits:

  • Increase your Constitution or Wisdom score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You gain proficiency with cook's utensils if you don't already have it.
  • As part of a short rest, you can cook special food, provided you have ingredients and cook's utensils on hand. You can prepare enough of this food for a number of creatures equal to 4 + your proficiency bonus. At the end of the short rest, any creature who eats the food and spends one or more Hit Dice to regain hit points regains an extra 1d8 hit points.
  • With one hour of work or when you finish a long rest, you can cook a number of treats equal to your proficiency bonus. These special treats last 8 hours after being made. A creature can use a bonus action to eat one of those treats to gain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus.

Iron Chef Spells

3rd-Level Iron Chef Feature
You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Iron Chef Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don't count towards the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Iron Chef Implements

3rd-Level Iron Chef Feature
When you finish a long rest you can touch a set of cook’s utensils you carry and turn them into Iron Chef Implements. You gain the following benefits while carrying these implements:
• You can always grab items you can use as a weapon or a shield, commonly a knife (dagger), cleaver (hand ax), skillet (light hammer), rolling pin (club), or pot lid (shield) these weapons are simple weapons for you, and you can grab and ready two such items as part of any attack you make using them. You can use your Intelligence modifier in place of Strength or Dexterity for attack and damage rolls using these weapons.
• The implements can bear one of your infusions that can be used on a set of tools, a spellcasting focus, or one or more weapons. A weapon infusion affects any tool drawn from the set while you wield it as a weapon. Items drawn from the utensils are only magical when used by you and reappear back among the rest of the utensils if they are more than 5 feet away from you for 1 minute or more.

Additionally, when used in conjunction with your Chef feat the utensils grant additional benefits:
• You can add your Intelligence modifier to the hit points regained from a meal during a short rest and to the temporary hit points granted by a treat.
• When you make a meal during a short rest you can feed additional creatures equal to your Intelligence modifier.
• When you make treats using these utensils, you can make additional treats equal to your Intelligence modifier, but each of these additional treats takes the place of one of your Magical Tinkering objects until consumed.
• When you make treats using these utensils, you can cast one or more beneficial artificer spells you know as part of that process. The spell effect of each spell you cast is imbued in one of the treats (if the spell can affect multiple targets it can be used on multiple treats). A creature that consumes a treat gains the benefits of the spell, targeting itself, which lasts for its full duration without concentration. Each treat can be imbued with only one spell and must be consumed within 8 hours of creation.

These utensils remain your Iron Chef Implements until you use this feature on a new set of cook's utensils.

Extra Attack

5th-Level Iron Chef Feature
You can attack twice, rather than once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Implement Skills

9th-Level Iron Chef Feature
You are an expert with the use of a knife and similar implements in cooking and combat. A simple weapon with the light property deals one extra die of it's damage when you hit with it.

Additionally, the Create Food and Water spell gains the ritual tag for you, and when you cast the spell, you can create any nonmagical food or beverage you wish.

Master Iron Chef

15th-Level Iron Chef Feature
You have mastered the techniques of the Iron Chef, gaining the following benefits:
• When you use your Chef feat to cook special food as part of a short rest, you can create a magical meal that grants creatures that eat the food the benefits of a Heroes’ Feast spell, in addition to the normal benefits. Once you create this magical meal, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
• When cast spells with your Iron Chef Tools as part of preparing treats using your Chef feat, those spells do not require material components to cast.
