Base Class: Bard
The College of Accounting is for the bard who wishes to weave a creative and captivating story through the lens of the trite and mundane. What most folk find to be boring or unnecessary, these bards find intricate thoughts and feelings that others glance right over.
Typically these bards live the life of a taxman or managing the ledger of a business, in this way they often go unnoticed. They have been known however to be advisors to kings, sycophants in court, or even merchant lords. Not usually charming in their own right, but feared among the common people, the bard uses their influence over coin to their advantage. They write the rules and they check the sheets twice, often tipping the scales in their favor. These bards are not the loudest, but sometimes leave the largest mark on society.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you join the College of Accounting at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the forgery kit.
Rounding Error
Starting at 3rd level, you can use your reaction to encourage your allies or dissuade your foes by explaining percent chance of success. When a creature you can see within 30 feet of you would make an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check at advantage or disadvantage, they instead roll normally. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) before finishing a long rest.
Additionally, you have advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) checks made to haggle prices at a shop, market, or tavern, etc.
Debt Chaser
You've learned how to chase down those who owe you money. At 3rd level, as a bonus action you can expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die and subtracting the number rolled, multiplied by 3 from a creature's movement speed until the start of your next turn. The creature must be within 60 feet of you. When subtracting from the creature's movement speed, round to the nearest 5 feet.
Long-winded
At 6th level, you can attempt to explain a difficult concept to a creature. As an action, target creature that can hear you and speaks at least one language must make a Intelligence saving throw or suffer disadvantage on attacks for up to one minute. As an action, the affected creature can repeat the saving throw to end this effect. You can use this feature once before finishing a short or a long rest.
Fickle Fortune
Using magic, you scramble the mind of your enemies and bolster the resolve of your allies to flip the scales of probability. At 14th level, whenever you use the Rounding Error feature, you can expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration and give advantage or disadvantage to a creature instead of having them roll normally.
