Base Class: Barbarian
Your reign is long, and the hunger never ends...
You are blessed - or cursed - with the power of the King of Dinosaurs. There is nothing that walks the earth that can stop you.
Level 3: Combat Maw
You can wield specialist maw weapons, leaving your hands free. When you gain this feature, a basic maw weapon (either Razormaw or Greatmaw, your choice) magically appears in your inventory, gifted by a mysterious tyrannosaur deity.
■ Greatmaw: Deals 1d12 piercing damage
■ Razormaw: Deals 1d6 piercing damage; has the same properties as a light weapon.
When you hit a creature with a maw weapon attack, you can use your bonus action to grapple that creature with your maw weapon. If the creature is your size category or smaller, it has disadvantage on the roll to resist the grapple and to escape out of your grapple. If it is larger than you, you must make an Athletics Check as per the normal rules for grappling. If you use your bonus action to go into a rage, then make an attack using your maw weapon on the same turn, you may attempt to grapple that creature as part of that attack. While you have a creature grappled with a maw weapon, you cannot attack a different creature with your maw weapon, unless you stop grappling the creature.
Greatmaw
Deals 1d12 piercing damage
Razormaw
Deals 1d6 piercing damage; has the same properties as a light weapon.
Level 3: Drag Prey
While grappling a creature or multiple creatures and while your maw weapon is equipped, your speed isn’t halved when you move those creatures.
Level 3: Dinosaurian Presence
You radiate carnivorous predatory energy. You know the Thaumaturgy cantrip and may cast it even if you are raging. Strength is your spellcasting ability for this spell. When you make an Intimidation check, you have advantage on that check if you are the same size category as, or larger than, the target.
Level 6: Tyrant's Presence
When you start to rage, you may also increase your size. If your current size category is Medium or larger, you increase in size by one category. If your current size is Small or smaller, you increase in size by two categories.
Level 6: Improved Drag Prey
Once on each of your turns, when you move a creature using Drag Prey ability, you can select an additional effect from the list below:
■ Debilitating Drag: Until the start of your next turn, the grappled creature’s speed is reduced by the same amount you moved it (to a minimum of 0), until the start of your next turn.
■ Drag & Shake: The creature must succeed a Constitution saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your Strength Modifier + your Proficiency Bonus. On a failed save, they drop an item of your choice that they are wielding. It is dropped at a point of your choice during the move.
■ Opportunistic Drag: You leave your prey open to attack. When you drag your prey within the melee attack range of an ally, they may use their reaction to make one attack of opportunity against the dragged creature. Only one creature can benefit from this in a single turn.
Level 10: Precognitive Predation
Your predatory instincts allow you to sense if a creature is trying to use magic to escape. If a creature within your maw weapon’s reach attempts to teleport (e.g. they cast Misty Step or Dimension Door), you may use your reaction to make an attack of opportunity against that creature before they teleport. On a hit, the creature is grappled, and their resource is expended but they don’t teleport.
Level 10: Predatory Instincts
The scent of blood and weakened prey awakens your carnivorous predatory instincts. Creatures that are at or below half of their maximum hit points gain a -3 penalty to their rolls to avoid or end your grapple.
Level 14: Tyrant's Presence
You radiate the ferocious aura of a titanic apex predatory dinosaur. When you start to rage, you may also increase your size. If your current size category is Medium or larger, you increase in size by one or two categories (your choice). If your current size is Small or smaller, you increase your size by two or three categories (your choice). You may attack any creature with your maw weapon, even while you have a creature grappled by your maw weapon. Attacking other creatures with your maw weapon no longer breaks the grapple. Additionally, you may grapple a second creature if you are already grappling one. When you hit one of the grappled creatures with a melee attack, the other takes piercing damage equal to your Strength Modifier.
Level 14: Devour Whole
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an attempt to devour a creature that you are grappling in a gory frenzy. Make a contested Athletics check against a creature you are grappling. If you are larger than the grappled creature, it makes its Athletics check at disadvantage. On a success, if the creature has 100 hitpoints or fewer, it dies as it is devoured whole and you regain 4d10 hit points. If the creature has more than 100 hit points, it takes 7d10 piercing damage as you bite a huge chunk out of it and you regain hit points equal to half the damage dealt. On a failure, the creature takes half that much damage and you regain hit points equal to half the damage delt. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
