Base Class: Monk
The Way of the Ember Soul is a monastic tradition that teaches that fire is not born from chaos or anger, but from absolute inner order. Practitioners refine their ki into a stable, burning essence known as the ember soul—an inner flame sustained by discipline, focus, and perfect control of the body and mind.
Rather than calling upon external magic or emotional fury, these monks become living conduits of internal combustion. Their bodies ignite as a reflection of their mastery, not their destruction. In battle, they move like walking flames—precise, controlled, and relentless—burning away impurity with every strike.
To witness an Ember Soul monk is to see discipline made visible: a quiet flame that never flickers out.
🔥Ignited Form(or burning form)
Starting at 3rd level, you learn to convert your ki into a stable inner flame. As a bonus action, you can enter Ignited Form a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1), regaining all uses on a long rest. This form lasts for 1 minute. While active, your unarmed strikes deal fire damage instead of bludgeoning damage, you gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls with unarmed strikes, and you shed 20 feet of bright light and 20 feet of dim light. You cannot gain a flying speed from this feature. The form ends early if you are reduced to 0 hit points or fully submerged in water.
Level 6: 🔥steps of flame
When you use Step of the Wind, you leave burning ground in your path until the start of your next turn. Creatures that enter this area for the first time on a turn or start their turn there take 1d4 fire damage once per turn.
🔥Flame Technique
While in Ignited Form, when you use Flurry of Blows, you may replace one of the unarmed strikes with a ranged burst of fire drawn from your body’s flames, using Wisdom for the attack roll. Additionally, when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you may spend 1 Ki point to deal an extra 1d6 fire damage, and the target ignites, taking 1d4 fire damage at the start of its next turn.
🔥Volatile Soul
At 11th level, your ember soul becomes unstable yet controlled. When you take damage while in Ignited Form, you can use your reaction and spend 4 Ki points to erupt in fire. Each creature within 10 feet must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 3d10 fire damage on a failed save or half as much on a success. You then teleport up to 15 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.
🔥Avatar of the Ember Soul
At 17th level, your mastery over the ember soul reaches perfection. While in Ignited Form, you gain resistance to fire damage and immunity to fire damage. Additionally, when you use Volatile Soul, you may choose a number of willing creatures equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1). Those creatures take no damage from your explosion.
