Base Class: Fighter
Aegis Knight
Some warriors master the sword. Others master the shield.
An Aegis Knight devotes their life to a single ideal: no one behind their shield shall fall.
Through relentless training and an almost supernatural bond with their shield, they learn to absorb the force of battle itself. Every strike against them, every failed attack, every clash of steel feeds the shield with stored kinetic energy. This energy can then be redirected to protect allies, shatter enemy defenses, or transform the shield into an instrument of overwhelming power.
Unlike ordinary fighters, an Aegis Knight’s shield is not merely equipment—it is an extension of their soul. As its power grows, it evolves alongside its bearer, shifting between two distinct forms:
Bastion Mode, an immense tower shield capable of withstanding impossible punishment, and Vanguard Mode, where the shield separates into two razor-edged armaments designed for relentless offense.
To face an Aegis Knight is to fight a warrior who grows stronger with every blow they endure, turning an enemy’s own strength against them until the battlefield itself bends beneath the weight of the White Aegis
Level 3: Awakened Aegis
Beginning at 3rd level, the White Aegis awakens as an extension of your unbreakable resolve. More than a shield, it is a living weapon that adapts to your fighting style, shifting between two combat stances while absorbing the force of every clash.
As a bonus action, you can shift the White Aegis between the following stances. Once you change stances, you cannot do so again until the start of your second turn after switching.
🛡 Bastion Stance
The White Aegis forms a single immense tower shield, allowing you to stand as an immovable guardian.
* You gain a +2 bonus to AC while wielding the White Aegis.
* Your shield attacks deal 1d8 bludgeoning damage.
* This stance focuses on defence and protecting your allies.
⚔ Vanguard Stance
The White Aegis separates into two razor-edged arm shields, favouring speed and relentless aggression.
* Your walking speed increases by 10 feet.
* Your shield attacks deal 1d10 slashing damage.
* This stance focuses on mobility and offensive pressure.
While wielding the White Aegis, you generate Kinetic Charges, representing the momentum absorbed during battle.
You can store a maximum number of Kinetic Charges equal to your proficiency bonus (minimum of 2).
You gain 1 Kinetic Charge whenever one of the following occurs while you are wielding the White Aegis:
* A creature misses you with a melee attack.
* You take damage from a creature.
* You successfully shove a creature.
You lose all unspent Kinetic Charges when you finish a short or long rest.
Your Kinetic Charges fuel the abilities gained through your Momentum Engine feature at 7th level.
Level 7: Momentum Engine
Beginning at 7th level, your mastery over your Kinetic Core allows you to weaponize the force stored within your shield.
You gain the following Kinetic Techniques. Unless otherwise stated, each technique can be used only once per turn.
Kinetic Strike
Cost: 1 Kinetic Charge
When you hit a creature with a shield attack, you may expend 1 Kinetic Charge to deal an additional 2d8 force damage.
Kinetic Guard
Cost: 1 Kinetic Charge
When you or a creature within 5 feet of you is hit by an attack, you may use your reaction and expend 1 Kinetic Charge to reduce the damage by 2d8 + your proficiency bonus.
Kinetic Burst
Cost: 1 Kinetic Charge
Immediately after taking the Attack action, you may expend 1 Kinetic Charge to unleash a burst of stored momentum. Each creature of your choice within 10 feet must make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier). On a failed save, the creature is pushed up to 10 feet directly away from you.
Each Kinetic Technique may only be used once per turn.
Level 10: Cataclysmic Impact
Beginning at 10th level, you can release the momentum stored within the White Aegis in a single earth-shattering strike.
As an action, slam the White Aegis into the ground and expend any number of Kinetic Charges.
The effect depends on your current stance.
⸻
🛡 Bastion Stance — Bastion Impact
A radiant wave erupts from the White Aegis.
Choose a number of creatures within 15 feet equal to or less than the number of Kinetic Charges spent.
Each chosen creature gains +1 AC for each Kinetic Charge spent until the start of your next turn.
Maximum AC bonus: +5.
⸻
⚔ Vanguard Stance — Vanguard Impact
The White Aegis releases a violent shockwave.
Each creature of your choice within 15 feet must make a Strength saving throw.
On a failed save, a creature takes 2d6 force damage for each Kinetic Charge spent and is knocked prone.
On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn’t knocked prone.
Level 15: Perfect Equilibium
Beginning at 15th level, your bond with the White Aegis reaches near perfection, allowing you to flow effortlessly between Bastion and Vanguard Stances.
Whenever you switch stances:
* You immediately gain 2 Kinetic Charges.
* Until the start of your next turn, you retain the passive benefits of your previous stance.
Additionally, whenever you score a critical hit or reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you may immediately switch stances without using your bonus action. This special stance change does not trigger the normal stance-switch cooldown.
Level 18: Avatar Of The Whit Aegis
Beginning at 18th level, your bond with the White Aegis reaches its ultimate form.
As a bonus action, you awaken the full power of the White Aegis for 1 minute. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
While Avatar of the White Aegis is active:
⚖ Perfect Harmony
You are considered to be in both Bastion and Vanguard Stances simultaneously.
You gain:
* +2 AC.
* +10 feet movement.
* Shield attacks deal 1d8 slashing damage.
You no longer suffer the stance-switch cooldown.
⸻
Infinite Momentum
Whenever you gain a Kinetic Charge beyond your maximum, you instead immediately regain 1 hit point per excess Charge.
Whenever you expend Kinetic Charges, immediately regain 1 Kinetic Charge after the technique resolves.
This means your momentum almost never stops.
⸻
Cataclysm Unbound
Your Cataclysmic Impact now combines both effects.
When used:
* Allies gain the AC bonus.
* Enemies take the damage.
* Enemies that fail their save are knocked prone.
* Allies also gain temporary hit points equal to your Fighter level.
One slam.
One battlefield.
Everything changes.
⸻
Living Legend
While Avatar of the White Aegis is active:
* You cannot be frightened.
* You cannot be knocked prone.
* You cannot be forcibly moved
