Base Class: Barbarian
The Path of the Spellbreaker is not a tradition passed down through masters or dusty tomes; it is a scar carved into the soul by proximity to absolute nothing. It was born in the Crater of the Null-Shard, a fragment of a dead god's ribcage that plunged into the world and bled a miasma of anti-magic. In that valley, the very laws of physics are a suggestion, and the Weave—the cosmic fabric that mages pull and twist—is a tattered, burning shroud. The survivors of that blighted place did not adapt; they were unmade and reforged. They drank water that had never known enchantment, breathed air that stung with raw potential, and learned to see magic not as a tool, but as a parasitic infection. Their rage is not the hot fury of the berserker, but the cold, grinding hatred of a mountain that has endured too many storms. To be a Spellbreaker is to be a living contradiction: a warrior whose very existence is an anchor in the stream of creation.

When a Spellbreaker unleashes their fury, the world around them recoils. Arcane barriers shatter like thin glass, enchantments peel away from steel like old paint, and the air itself grows heavy with a suffocating, primordial stillness. Summoned fiends screech as their tethers to this plane fray and snap, and elementals collapse into their base components as the spell that gave them form is violently unmade. For a wizard accustomed to reality bending at their whim, facing a Spellbreaker is a visceral terror—they feel the Weave slip through their fingers like smoke, their carefully crafted syllables turning to ash in their mouths. But the greatest burden is carried by the Spellbreaker themselves; they do not channel magic, they deny it, and every denied spell is a blow struck against a universe that will never forgive them for remembering what it was like before the stars learned to sing. They are the silence that follows the thunder, the end of every chant, and the final, unyielding word spoken over a world that has forgotten how to listen.

Spellbreaker Magic

3rd level Path of the Spellbreaker feature

At 3rd level when you take this subclass, you learn the Resistance cantrip. While you are raging, you can cast it on yourself without requiring concentration.

You also learn the Detect Magic spell. You can cast it as a ritual without material components a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Antimagic Aura

3rd level Path of the Spellbreaker feature

Antimagic Aura. Your body constantly repels magical energy. At all times, whenever a magic item, potion, spell, or other magical effect (including your own) would grant you a beneficial numerical effect (temporary HP, healing, bonuses to checks, attacks, or saves), that benefit is halved (rounded down). This does not apply to passive bonuses (like a +1 weapon’s attack/damage or +1 armor’s AC) or to non-numerical effects (like gaining flight or condition immunity). Your resistance cantrip is exempt from this penalty.

Spell Eater

6th level Path of the Spellbreaker feature

At 6th level, when you succeed on a saving throw against a spell that targets only you, you can use your reaction to consume the magic. You take no damage, suffer no effect, and regain hit points equal to twice the spell’s level + your Constitution modifier.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Counterspell Slam

10th level Path of the Spellbreaker feature

At 10th level, when a creature within 30 feet of you casts a spell while you are raging, you can use your reaction to move up to half your speed toward them and make one melee weapon attack. If the attack hits, the caster must make a Constitution saving throw against your Arcane Rupture DC. On a failure, the spell fails and the slot is wasted. On a success, the spell resolves normally, but you deal an additional 2d6 force damage to the caster.

Mage Slayer

14th level Path of the Spellbreaker feature

Magic cannot bind you. You are immune to the paralyzed and restrained conditions.

Additionally, once per long rest, when a spell would reduce you to 0 hit points, you can instead drop to hit points equal to twice that spells level and immediately end all magical effects of 5th level or lower within 30 feet (no action required). For effects of 6th level or higher, make a Constitution check (DC = 10 + the spell’s level). On a success, they end as well.

Your next attack deals an addtional 2d12 of force damage.
