Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

This is an adaptation of the necromancer subclass as created by archlich the youtube channel. The core of the sublcass is built to emulate it, however some changes have been made to it and balance changes are likely on the way. There are a host of homebrew spells meant to be implemented as well, namedly Sudden Animation, and Create Undead Ritual. These are reworked versions of the spells Animate dead, and Create Undead. These are integral to the playstyle of this homebrew subclass. I hope you like it!

Level 3: Necromancy Savant

At the end of a long rest when you prepare spells you may prepare a number of Necromancy spells equal to half your level rounded down in addition to the spells you can normally prepare.

Additionally, you are able to inscribe any Necromancy spells into your spellbook even if they do not appear on the Wizard Spell List. When you gain this feature you may add one Necromancy spell to your spellbook.

The gold and time you must spend to copy spells from the Necromancy spell school into your spellbook is halved.

Level 3: Black Grimoire

At the end of a long rest, you can choose one spellbook you possess to be your Black Grimoire. This spellbook grants you Black Mana Points equal to your Wizard Level while you are carrying it. This magic can be channeled in several ways by expending Black Mana on Necrotic Enhancements and casting spells.

At the end of each Long Rest, you prepare necrotic enhancements into your Black Grimoire, allowing you to choose two Necrotic Enhancements to have access to until you finish your next Long Rest. When you cast a necromancy spell that you have prepared in your Black Grimoire and can see an undead creature under your control within 60 feet of you, you can spend Black Mana Points to apply any Necrotic Enhancements to them.

Additionally, you can spend black mana points to upcast any of your necromancy spells. When you cast a necromancy spell that you have prepared of 1st level or higher, you can spend any number of Black Mana Points to upcast that spell to a maximum of the highest level spell slot you currently have access to.

Undead Mastery

At 6th level, you add the Sudden Animation and Create Undead ritual spells to your spellbook if they are not there already, if you already have them you can choose two spells from the Wizard spell list (or any spell list if it's a Necromancy spell) which you have spell slots to cast. When you cast Sudden Animation you can create a second undead, following the same CR restrictions. Additionally, you can have up to 2 Minions as described in the Create Undead Ritual spell.

Black Pact

At 10th level, you learn the secrets behind necromancy and how to make more undead. You now know the ritual to create any Undead creature that has a number of hit dice equal to or less than your Wizard level. You have advantage on the Intelligence (Arcana) check to create undead in this manner.

Command Undead

Starting at 14th level, you can use magic to bring undead under your control, even those created by other wizards. As an action or a bonus action, you can choose one undead that you can see within 60 feet of you. That creature must make a Charisma saving throw against your wizard spell save DC. If it fails, it becomes friendly to you and obeys your commands until you use this feature again.

Intelligent undead are harder to control in this way. If the target has an Intelligence of 8 or higher, it has advantage on the saving throw. If it fails the saving throw and has an Intelligence of 12 or higher, it can repeat the saving throw at the end of every hour until it succeeds and breaks free.

Additionally you can now create up to four Minions as described in the Create Undead Ritual spell.
