Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

An Alpha Warden bonds with a primal direwolf spirit, channeling the predatory instincts, pack tactics, and freezing endurance of the tundra into a seamless battlefield partnership.

Winter's Voice

3rd-Level Alpha Warden Feature

The bond you share with your wolf creates a connection to it's primal, pack instincts, granting you understanding and empowering your presence. You gain the following benefits:

Ice in the Veins: You learn the ray of frost cantrip, which is a ranger spell for you.

Wolf Bond

3rd-Level Alpha Warden Feature

Your Direwolf is friendly to you and your companions of your choosing, and it obeys only your commands. See its game statistics in the accompanying Dire Wolf stat block, which uses your proficiency bonus (PB) in several places.

In combat, the drake shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It can move and use its reaction on its own, but the only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the drake can take any action of its choice, not just Dodge.

7th-Level Alpha Warden Feature

Your bond with your Alpha Dire Wolf grows deeper, granting you the following benefits:

Apex Ride: You can use the wolf as a mount. While you are riding it, the wolf can take the Dash or Disengage action as a bonus action on its turn, and it does not provoke opportunity attacks when moving out of an enemy's reach. Also, while mounted on your Alpha Dire Wolf, all physical skill checks (Athletics, Acrobatics, Stealth) are made with advantage, but only while mounted.

Boreal Fang: The wolf’s bite deals an extra 1d6 Cold damage.

Frost Resistance: You gain resistance to Cold damage.

Cold Resistance

You gain resistance to the cold damage.

Winter's Howl

11th-Level Alpha Warden Feature

As an action, you or your wolf can unleash a magical, chilling howl in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, a creature takes 8d6 Cold damage and its speed is halved until the start of your next turn. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage and its speed is not reduced. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 3rd level or higher to use it.

Perfected Pack

Your bond reaches its absolute peak, transforming your companion into a legendary predator.

Shared Reflexes: When either you or your wolf takes damage while within 30 feet of each other, you can use your reaction to give the target resistance to that instance of damage.

Shared Spells: When casting a spell of 1st level or higher, spell effects affect both man and wolf.
