Bard
Base Class: Bard

You inspire others, but not with just words, but with new ways of thinking.  You spin tales where heroes did unexpected things and accomplished great deeds simply by not following the normal status quo.  You recite cliches of wisdom with little twists in them, to inspire creative thoughts and new ways to solve problems.  Some people may be offended by some of the things you say, but so many more are inspired to open their minds to new paradigms.

Compared to other bards, you have become more controversial as you avoid the comfortable norms. To you confrontation has replaced admiration. An argument is but a tavern away.

Insightful Eloquence

3rd-level College of Liberation feature

You receive the Insight skill as a free proficiency. You are a master at seeing subjects from multiple points of view. When you make a Charisma Persuasion check, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

If this character is already proficient in Insight, they may take a proficiency in arcana, history, medicine, nature, or religion instead.

Counterintuitive Words

3rd-level College of Liberation feature

You can spin words laced with magic that cause a creature to have echoing doubt. As a bonus action, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and choose one creature you can see within 60 feet of you to cause that creature to make their next skill check or saving throw at a penalty equal to your bardic inspiration.  If the creature does not make a skill check or saving throw by the end of your next turn, the effect will be lost.  You may use this ability once between long rests.

Fearless Valor

6th-level College of Liberation feature

Your mind remains clear during battle. You make all saving throws vs. frightened at advantage. When you use your action to attack, you may use your bonus action to make a second attack with the same weapon.

Expanded Magic Library

6th-level College of Liberation feature

The bard will add two non-cantrip spells to their library from either the school of divination or enchantment of 3rd level or lower.  These spells do not count against their known spells.  They may choose any spells from the bard, sorcerer or warlock spell lists so long as they are from these schools of magic.

Unfailing Influence

14th-level College of Liberation feature

When you successfully inspire someone, the power of your influence becomes more potent, almost to the point of being unfailing. Your bardic inspiration now has the following additional benefits;

  • When a creature uses one of your bardic inspiration to hit an opponent, they will roll a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
  • When a creature adds one of your Bardic Inspiration dice to its ability check, attack roll, or saving throw and the roll fails, the creature can keep the Bardic Inspiration die.

Liberal Attunement

14th level College of Liberation feature

You have become more liberal with your ways to attune to magic items.  You may now attune yourself with up to four magic items.
