Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

A Maid is far more than a household servant. Through discipline, observation, and flawless preparation, a Maid ensures that her companions remain protected, organized, and ready for every danger.

Whether serving a noble household, guarding a trusted companion, or adventuring to fulfill a personal duty, a Maid approaches combat as another task to be completed with precision.

Maids move swiftly between allies, correct mistakes before they become disasters, and respond to unacceptable behavior with decisive force. Their combat style combines martial training, battlefield support, protection, and careful positioning.

A Maid may choose a trusted creature as her Charge, but this bond does not grant that creature authority over her. The exact nature of the Maid’s service is determined by the Maid and her Charge.

Maid Training

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Insight, Investigation, Medicine, Perception, Persuasion, or Sleight of Hand.

You also gain proficiency with one type of artisan’s tools of your choice.

Additionally, you can use Dexterity instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls of improvised weapons that do not have the Heavy property.

Dedicated Charge

At the end of a long rest, you can designate one willing creature other than yourself as your Charge.

Your Charge remains designated until you finish another long rest or designate a different creature.

Certain Maid features provide an additional benefit when used to protect or assist your Charge.

While your Charge is within 60 feet of you and both of you are on the same plane of existence, you always know the direction of your Charge.

Designating a creature as your Charge does not grant that creature authority over you. The nature of your service is determined by you and the designated creature.

Service Dice

Your training allows you to perform exceptional acts of protection, preparation, and battlefield assistance.

You have four Service Dice, which are d6s. A Service Die is expended when you use it. You regain all expended Service Dice when you finish a short or long rest.

Your Service Dice change when you reach certain levels in this class:

3rd level: d6
10th level: d8
15th level: d10
18th level: d12

Some of your Service Techniques require a saving throw. The saving throw DC is calculated as follows:

Service save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity or Intelligence modifier

Choose Dexterity or Intelligence when you gain this feature. The chosen ability is used for all of your Maid features.

Service Techniques

You learn three Service Techniques of your choice from the options available for this feature.

You learn one additional Service Technique when you reach 7th, 10th, and 15th level in this class.

Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one Service Technique you know with another Service Technique for which you qualify.

You can use only one Service Technique per attack, ability check, saving throw, or triggering event, unless a technique states otherwise.

Each use of a Service Technique expends one Service Die.

Absolutely Unacceptable

When a creature you can see damages one of your allies with an attack, you can use your reaction and expend one Service Die to move up to half your speed toward the attacker.

This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks from the triggering creature.

If the attacker is within your weapon’s reach at the end of this movement, you can make one weapon attack against it. On a hit, add the Service Die to the attack’s damage roll.

Allow Me

When another creature you can see within 5 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction and expend one Service Die to reduce the damage by the number rolled plus your chosen Maid ability modifier.

You can then exchange positions with that creature, provided both creatures are willing and can fit in the other creature’s space. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.

If the protected creature is your Charge, add your proficiency bonus to the amount of damage reduced.

Clean Sweep

When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one Service Die and add it to the attack’s damage roll.

The target must then succeed on a Strength saving throw or suffer one of the following effects of your choice:

• The target is pushed up to 10 feet away from you.
• The target falls prone.

A creature more than one size larger than you automatically succeeds on this saving throw.

Corrective Strike

When another creature you can see within 5 feet of you misses with a weapon attack, you can use your reaction and expend one Service Die.

The attacking creature can reroll the attack and add the Service Die to the new attack roll. It must use the new result.

If the rerolled attack hits, the Service Die is not added to the attack’s damage.

Everything in Its Place

As a bonus action, you can expend one Service Die and choose another willing creature you can see within 30 feet of you.

The chosen creature can immediately use its reaction to move up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

If the chosen creature is your Charge, it also gains a bonus to its Armor Class equal to half the number rolled on your Service Die, rounded up, until the start of its next turn.

First Aid

As a bonus action, you can expend one Service Die and choose yourself or one creature within 5 feet of you.

The chosen creature can immediately spend one of its Hit Dice. It regains hit points equal to the Hit Die roll plus the number rolled on your Service Die.

A creature cannot benefit from this technique again until it finishes a short or long rest.

Mind Your Manners

When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one Service Die and add it to the attack’s damage roll.

The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or have disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures other than you until the start of your next turn.

If the target attacks your Charge before this effect ends, your Charge gains resistance to the damage of the first such attack.

Perfect Timing

When another creature you can see within 30 feet of you makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw and fails, you can use your reaction and expend one Service Die.

Roll the Service Die and add the result to the triggering roll, potentially turning the failure into a success.

You can use this technique after the result of the roll is announced, but before the consequences of the failure are resolved.

If the creature is your Charge, it also gains temporary hit points equal to your chosen Maid ability modifier after the triggering roll is resolved.

Please Remain Seated

When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one Service Die and add it to the attack’s damage roll.

The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or have its speed reduced to 0 until the start of your next turn.

A creature more than one size larger than you has advantage on this saving throw.

Proper Preparation

When you or another creature you can see within 30 feet of you rolls initiative, you can expend one Service Die.

Add the number rolled to that creature’s initiative roll. The chosen creature can also immediately draw or stow one weapon or object.

If the chosen creature is your Charge, it can move up to 10 feet immediately after initiative is determined. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.

Swift Attendance

As a bonus action, you can expend one Service Die and choose an ally you can see within 60 feet of you.

You can move up to your speed toward that ally without provoking opportunity attacks.

At the end of this movement, the chosen ally gains temporary hit points equal to the number rolled on your Service Die plus your chosen Maid ability modifier, provided you are within 5 feet of the ally.

If the chosen ally is your Charge, you can move up to 10 additional feet as part of this movement.

Always Prepared

At 7th level, choose one skill in which you are proficient from the following list: Insight, Investigation, Medicine, Perception, Persuasion, or Sleight of Hand.

Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make using the chosen skill.

You can also take the Help action as a bonus action. When you use Help in this way, the creature you assist must be within 10 feet of you and must be able to see or hear you.

You can use this bonus-action Help a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Flawless Coordination

At 10th level, your Service Dice become d8s.

Whenever you expend a Service Die to assist an ally, that ally can move up to 5 feet immediately after the technique is resolved.

This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.

An ally can benefit from this movement only once per turn.

If the affected ally is your Charge, it can instead move up to 10 feet.

Not on My Watch

At 15th level, your Service Dice become d10s.

When another creature you can see within 30 feet of you would be reduced to 0 hit points without being killed outright, you can use your reaction to move up to your speed toward that creature.

This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.

If you end this movement within 5 feet of the creature, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead of 0 hit points. It also gains temporary hit points equal to your Fighter level.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.

If the protected creature is your Charge, you regain the use of this feature when you finish a short or long rest.

Additionally, when you roll initiative and have no Service Dice remaining, you regain one Service Die.

Immaculate Service

At 18th level, your Service Dice become d12s.

Whenever you roll a Service Die and roll a number lower than 6, you can treat the roll as a 6.

At the beginning of each of your turns, if you have no Service Dice remaining, you regain one Service Die.

When you use a Service Technique on your Charge, you can roll the Service Die twice and use either result.

You can still expend only one Service Die for the technique unless another feature states otherwise.
