Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians who walk the Path of Wrath are not mindless berserkers. They are avatars of righteous or perhaps terrible vengeance. Their fury is born from betrayal, injustice, or an unrelenting desire to see every enemy brought low. Each wound they suffer feeds their rage, each fallen foe steels their resolve, until they become an unstoppable force of destruction. Some Path of Wrath barbarians serve as divine executioners, while others are feared warlords whose names are whispered only in dread. Whatever their cause, their anger burns with singular purpose, and once it is unleashed, few survive its judgment. Many of them fall under the service of Zenith, the Elder God of Wrath who is known to give them many blessings in return as he pushes them further into madness so he may consume them.

Level 3: Wrath Incarnate

Your rage feeds upon pain and retribution. While you are raging, the first time each turn that a creature deals damage to you, you gain 1 Wrath Die, a d4. You can have a maximum number of Wrath Dice equal to your Proficiency Bonus. All unspent Wrath Dice disappear when your Rage ends. This die increases to a d6 at level 7, d8 at level 13, and a d10 at level 17.

Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you may expend any number of Wrath Dice. The attack deals additional damage equal to the total rolled on the expended dice.

Additionally, while you have at least one Wrath Die, you have advantage on Grapple checks.

Furious Pursuit

Nothing escapes your vengeance. When a creature within 30 feet damages you or an ally you can see, you can use your reaction to move up to half your speed toward that creature without provoking opportunity attacks.

If you end this movement within your weapon's reach, you may immediately make one melee weapon attack against that creature.

Level 6: Blood for Blood

Your wrath grows more terrifying as battle continues. Whenever you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points while raging, choose one of the following benefits:

  • Gain temporary hit points equal to your Barbarian level.
  • Regain one expended Wrath Die.
  • Move up to half your speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Additionally, you score a critical on 19-20 on a d20 Test.

Level 10: Unrelenting Hatred

Your fury refuses to let your enemies flee. While raging:

  • Creatures provoke opportunity attacks from you even if they take the Disengage action.
  • When you hit a creature with an opportunity attack, its speed becomes 0 until the start of its next turn.
  • Whenever you score a critical hit, you immediately gain one Wrath Die without exceeding your maximum.

Level 14: Avatar of Wrath

Your rage reaches its terrifying pinnacle. While raging:

  • You have resistance to all damage except psychic damage.
  • Once on each of your turns, if you expend at least one Wrath Die on an attack, that attack deals an additional 2d8 force damage.
  • If a creature damages you from within your melee reach, you may use your reaction to immediately make one melee weapon attack against that creature at advantage.
  • You now score a critical on 18-20 of a d20 Test.

If this reaction reduces the creature to 0 hit points, you regain your reaction at the start of the next creature's turn instead of at the start of your next turn
