Barbarian: Path of the Draconic Charge

Barbarians who choose the Path of the Draconic Charge walk a more diplomatic path whenever possible, but unleash mighty fury whenever necessary.

These warriors serve Dragons, but their roles range from arbiter to subject to thrall. The Draconic Charge refers to both their service to the Dragon, but also to the ferocious maneuvers they take while raging.

Conciliatory Tendency

When you choose this path at 3rd level, your enthralling aura benefits you in battle. While raging, your attacks do additional damage equal to your Charisma modifier (Minimum of 1), if you made a Deception, Persuasion, or Intimidation check against the target within the last hour. This damage occurs regardless of the success of the ability check.

Gift of Protection

Also at 3rd level, you gain resistance to the damage type associated with the Dragon you serve (fire for Red Dragons, Thunder for Sapphire, etc).

Gift of Elocution

You gain proficiency in one of Deception, Intimidation, Persuasion.

You can also speak, read, and write in Draconic.

Predacious Fury

Beginning at 6th level, you can enhance your rages with beastly vigor. When you choose to rage, you can designate a creature that you can see as “Prey”. Rushing towards your “Prey,” only expends half of your movement and does not provoke opportunity attacks.

When you attempt a melee attack on this creature, you invoke the innate magic of your Draconic overlord. You have advantage on the first attack role, and, on a hit, the attack does additional damage equal to 1d8 + your barbarian level. The damage type is the same type of your Draconic overseer.

When you are using your Predacious Fury feature, you have disadvantage on creatures other than your "Prey." You may NOT change the target of this feature unless you enter a new rage. Your Predacious Fury ends only if your "Prey" drops to 0 HP, you drop to 0 HP, or you end your rage.

Dragon’s Chosen Warrior

At 10th Level, you have honed your frenzied charge to utter mastery. While raging, you never invoke opportunity attacks.

Additionally, you gain immunity to the damage type associated with the Dragon you serve.

Otherworldly Outcry

At 10th level, you have been empowered with a Dragon’s legendary might. When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of the attacks with an explosive blast of Draconic power in a 20 foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw against your save DC (8+ Prof + CHA), taking 4d6 damage of the type associated with the Dragon you fight on behalf of, or half as much on a successful save. However, you can choose a number of creatures up to your Proficiency Bonus + Charisma modifier to be protected from this ability

Draconic Defense

At 14th level, your rage draws the power of the Dragon from deep within you, causing scales to temporarily form on your body.  While raging, you may add your Charisma modifier to the AC that Unarmored Defense gives you. This feature lasts as long as your rage does.
