Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Though the Soil Mother is not a true goddess, she played a significant part in the creation of The Shelf (when she raised it up from the desert surrounding) and has since taken great care to protect its people. That affection she has displayed for centuries is reflected in the natures of her followers, who place a great emphasis on cultivating the growth of and protecting all people from harm - especially children. Such is also displayed in their statues, where an infraction such as hitting a child is identical in punishment to an attempted murder.

Aside from their intense belief in the cultivation of people, the Sworn of Soil are also known for their vast farmlands and timbering fields, which many villages rely on near wholly as their source of food or shelter. Very uncommonly do villages repay this kindness, though it seems not to matter, as no rumor has ever surfaced of the Sworn extorting, pillaging, or ransoming for wealth in return.

The Soil Sworn follow lose rules, with the understanding that the room given for interpretation exists to allow various forms of love to be used. The tennants that are written are as follows:

  • Share the Plenty - The Shelf is a place of abundant bounty, as the Mother willed it. There is nothing that there is not enough of. So distribute what you can - especially to those that need it.
  • Love the Siblings - All daughters and sons are your sisters and brothers; they must never forget that their Mother loves them. And if they do, you shall love in her place.
  • Leave Empty Graves - For no purpose should you ever bring a child of the Mother to death, or allow them to be brought to death by any preventable means.
  • Familial Obligation - Any person whom you or your allies have restrained, captured, or otherwise apprehended must be protected from harm until they are released in a safe location with the nessecary utilities or tools to survive.

Level 20: Her Grown Child

Starting at 20th level, you gain the ability to make your body undergo several physical changes, completeing your physical maturity. As a bonus action on ones of your turns, you can choose to become matured for 1 hour.

While matured, you are one size larger, five times heavier, and cannot decrease in size by any magical means without consent. Whenever you engage in a strength (athlectics) contest to grapple or prevent being grappled while matured, you cannot lose that contest unless you roll a 1 on the d20 and have a lesser value than the opposing creature. Additionaly, while matured, creatures of your chosing are healed by 1d4 + your Wisdom or Charisma modifier (whichever was chosen in the Wisdom is Grace ability) at the start of each of your turns in combat, or once per minute otherwise.

As a prerequisit, your Wisdom Score must be 13 or greater to activate this ability.
