Base Class: Paladin
The Oath of Pride is not one of virtue, but of conviction twisted into arrogance. Those who swear this oath believe themselves to be destined for greatness beyond the reach of ordinary mortals. Whether they see themselves as rightful kings, living saints, conquerors, or flawless champions, they reject the notion that anyone stands as their equal. Some who follow this oath begin with noble intentions to become humanity's greatest protector or the perfect champion of justice but over time their certainty transforms into hubris. They cease serving ideals and instead demand that ideals serve them. To an Oath of Pride paladin, failure is an insult, weakness is a choice, and humility is the refuge of lesser beings.
Many ultimately fall into tyranny, though a rare few wield their overwhelming confidence in service of a greater cause. Even then, their companions often question whether they are following a hero... or simply the next great despot.
Tenets of Pride
Above All Others
You were not born to follow. Leadership is your birthright, and the weak should look to you for guidance.
Perfection Through Strength
Imperfection is failure. Every battle, every challenge, and every victory exists to prove your superiority.
Never Bow
Compromise breeds weakness. Bend neither knee nor spirit before any foe.
Greatness Must Be Seen
Power hidden is power wasted. Let the world witness your victories, so they remember your name long after kingdoms crumble.
