Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of Crushing Rain have trained in the art of downpour; harnessing its torrential vigor to attack their enemies from afar and crush them beneath the weight of the deluge.
Drizzle
Using the basics of your technique, you can create a localized rainfall. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 ki point to summon your rainfall for 10 minutes. While it is active, you gain the following benefits:
- Heavy Rain Aura: A cylinder of heavy rain with a 10-foot radius and starts 10 feet above your head and goes down until it hits something forms centered on you. The area within the cylinder is considered lightly obscured for creatures other than you. The cylinder is locked on your head-toe axis, meaning that if you do a headstand, the rain will fall upwards.
- Crushing Droplets: When a creature enters the rain for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a Strength saving throw against your Ki save DC. On a failed save, the creature takes bludgeoning damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die and its speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of its next turn. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage and its speed is not reduced.
Additionally, you gain the shape water cantrip if you don't already have it.
Shower
At 6th level, you learn to condense the weight of your rain to pin down specific targets or destroy physical objects. You gain the following options while your rain is active:
- Downpour Pin: When a creature fails its Strength saving throw against your Heavy Rain Aura, you can use your reaction to spend 1 ki point to knock that creature prone under the weight of the water.
- Structural Erosion: Your Heavy Rain Aura deals double damage to objects and structures.
Downpour
Torrent
- The radius of the cylinder expands to 30 feet.
- The ground within the cylinder becomes difficult terrain for hostile creatures and creatures inside the aura cannot teleport or use their fly speed if applicable, flying creatures are grounded.
- The damage of your Heavy Rain Aura increases to three rolls of your Martial Arts die and ignores immunity and resistance.
- Any creature that fails its Strength saving throw against the aura is restrained by the immense downward pressure until the end of its next turn.
- When a creature inside your radius that has already succeeded the strength saving throw attempts to cast a spell, use a feature, or make an attack, you may use your reaction to make them roll another strength save, on a failure, they are pinned as normal and the attack, spell, or ability is wasted, on a success, nothing happens.
Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
