Base Class: Fighter
"I see a dark cloud casting over the skies, as if rain will soon flood the land."
-Bamboo Hatted Kim, Blade Lineage Clan Mentor.
The Blade Lineage Clan has been all but disbanded due to a series of unfortunate events, the majority of remaining members joining other groups, but a select few remain as wandering swordsmen, taking jobs whenever they can to stay afloat.
Under Bright Moonlight - Level 3
"We are not placing our stone here, then? Mm, then the tides drive us to resign."
Bearing of a Salsu
Whenever you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you gain 1 stack of Poise. After gaining this Poise, roll a separate d20. If the result of the d20 is equal to or less than your Poise stack, you deal additional damage equal to your fighter level. When this extra damage is triggered, your current Poise stack is reduced by (10 - your proficiency bonus), this cannot reduce your Poise below 0. You can have up to 30 stacks of Poise.
Whenever you have 0 Poise stacks at the start of your turn, you can choose to take damage equal to a number of d4s equal to your Fighter level to gain 4 Poise stacks. You cannot be reduced below a number of hit points equal to your Fighter level by this damage.
Red Garden
When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with weapons, up to +4. This bonus lasts until the end of combat.
At level 7, you gain Poise stacks at the start of each of your turns equal to the current bonus from this feature.
The Blade Lineage
You gain the 'Bad Reputation' feature from the Sailor background. If you already have the Bad Reputation feature, the crimes people are too afraid to report you for increase from Misdemeanors to Gross Misdemeanors.
Additionally, you gain proficiency in Intimidation. If you are already proficient, you gain expertise instead.
When you make a Charisma (Intimidation) check against a creature that recognizes your affiliation, you can add your Strength modifier to the roll.
Draw of the Sword - Level 7
"My play has yet to flourish... will you respond nevertheless?"
Swordplay of the Homeland
Your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 while you have at least 10 Poise. This range expands to 18–20 at 20 Poise and 17–20 at 30 Poise
When using a melee weapon you are proficient in that deals Slashing or Piercing damage, and no other damage types, it deals one additional die of its normal damage, and gains a +1 bonus to attack rolls.
At level 10, the weapon gains a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls instead, and is considered magical.
At level 15, the weapon gains a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls instead.
Overthrow
When a creature hits you with a melee attack, you may use your reaction to make one weapon attack against that creature.
For every full 10% of your maximum hit points you are missing, your attacks deal an additional 1d6 slashing damage.
At level 10, you may make 2 weapon attacks against the creature that hit you instead of 1.
At level 15, you may make 3 weapon attacks against the creature that hit you instead of 2.
Yield My Flesh
Before you make an attack against a creature, you may declare the attack to be a 'Clash' instead. During a clash, both you and the target make attack rolls against each other, applying bonuses to attack rolls as normal. The creature with the higher attack roll wins the clash.
If a tie happens, the clash starts again. For each tie, the eventual winner's attack deals an additional 1d4 damage.
If you lose the Clash, the target immediately makes one attack against you using the attack roll it made for the Clash. If you have more than 15 hit points when the attack is made, it cannot reduce you below 15 hit points.
After you win a clash, your attacks against the creature you clashed with deal an additional 1d6 slashing damage until the end of your turn.
If you lose a clash, you gain 'Yielded Flesh', which allows you to use a future feature. You lose Yielded Flesh at the end of combat, and can only have 1 instance of Yielded Flesh at any given time.
At 10th level, when you declare a Clash, you may choose to have both you and the target roll a d20 without adding any bonuses or penalties to the rolls instead of the normal attack roll.
Cut Down What Must Be Felled - Level 10
"Yield My Flesh, To Claim Their Bones!"
To Claim Their Bones
As an Action while you have Yielded Flesh, you can make 4 empowered strikes.
When you use this feature, make 4 attacks against a creature within reach, each attack deals additional damage equal to your Proficiency Bonus. After all attacks have been made, the creature must make a DC (8 + Your proficiency bonus + Your strength modifier or dexterity modifier) Constitution saving throw, becoming Paralyzed until the end of their next turn on a failure.
When you use this feature, you can target one additional creature within 10 feet of you for every 10 Poise you have, up to a maximum of three targets. Each attack roll you make as part of this feature is compared against the AC of every target. Roll damage separately for each target hit as normal.
After this feature resolves, you lose 'Yielded Flesh'.
Awash in the yearning moonlight - Level 15
"My stratagem worked, and the tide of this battle was in our favor. Let this tide continue until we find us a new home."
Shadow-Vested Bladesinger
Once per combat, you can enter an empowered form.
At the start of each of your turns, you can choose to gain (1 + (Poise/10, rounded down)) 'Drink to the Fallen' stacks. This can only happen once per combat.
Drink to the Fallen has a maximum of 4.
At the start of each of your turns while you have Drink to the Fallen, including the turn you activated this feature, you gain Poise equal to your Drink to the Fallen stacks.
While you have Drink to the Fallen, when the bonus damage from the Poise roll triggers, deal additional damage equal to half your Poise. Calculate the additional damage from this feature using your Poise immediately before Bearing of a Salsu reduces it.
While you have Drink to the Fallen, your movement speed increases by 10 feet, and you heal hit points equal to the damage you deal with weapon attacks (Maximum of twice your proficiency bonus per attack roll).
You lose one stack of Drink to the Fallen at the end of each of your turns.
Unrelenting Heart
Once per day, when you would be reduced to 0 hit points, you can choose to instead be reduced to 1 hit point, and all damage you take until the start of your next turn is reduced by 30 (minimum of 0).
If you have Drink to the Fallen, when this feature triggers, you may choose to expend all stacks of Drink to the Fallen to heal 25% of your maximum hit points for each stack expended. This healing cannot restore you above your hit point maximum.
Drifting Sword Saint - Level 18
"Though stark be the lunar brilliance... Its lambent gleam shall wane with the rise of the dark moon!"
"No sun has ever risen without a shadow cast, so this shade, too, shall I accept!"
Beads of Liquor at Bladepoint - Refined To Claim Their Bones
When you use To Claim Their Bones while you have at least one Drink to the Fallen stack, you use the following version of the feature instead:
When you use this feature, choose up to four creatures, one creature within your reach and up to three additional creatures within 15 feet of you and make 4 attack rolls.
Each attack roll gains a bonus equal to your Drink to the Fallen stacks, and deals additional damage equal to your Proficiency Bonus + your Drink to the Fallen Stacks.
Each attack roll is compared against the AC of every chosen creature. For each target against which the attack roll is a critical hit or triggers Bearing of a Salsu, that target takes additional damage equal to your current Poise, replacing the additional damage from Shadow-Vested Bladesinger.
Each target hit by an attack roll counts as a separate hit for the purposes of Bearing of a Salsu.
Any reduction to your Poise caused by Bearing of a Salsu is delayed until all attacks from this feature have resolved.
After all attacks have been made, each creature hit by this feature must make a DC (8 + Your proficiency bonus + Your strength modifier or dexterity modifier) Constitution saving throw at disadvantage, on a failed save, the creature becomes Paralyzed until the end of its next turn.
After this feature resolves, you lose 'Yielded Flesh' as normal.
