Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

The Close Quiver ranger is a master of versatility, capable of weaving ranged precision with brutal close-quarters combat. Their skill lies in using ranged weapons effectively in any situation, blurring the lines between archery and melee fighting. With each shot or swing of their weapon, they seamlessly transition from striking foes at a distance to cutting down enemies who stray too close. Their expertise allows them to strike with deadly accuracy even at point-blank range, while also delivering powerful melee blows with the very weapons designed for ranged attacks. As they grow in power, their combat style becomes a perfect blend of dexterity, precision, and ruthless efficiency, making them a lethal force in both the heat of battle and from afar.

Close-Quarters Archery

3rd-level Close Quiver Feature

You’ve mastered the art of using your ranged weapons in close combat. When you make a ranged attack within 5 feet of a hostile creature, you no longer suffer disadvantage on the attack roll. Additionally, you can use your ranged weapon as a melee weapon. When you do so, you deal damage as if it were a melee weapon (1d6 damage for bows, crossbows, etc., dealing either piercing or bludgeoning, depending on the weapon). Your attacks with ranged weapons in melee also benefit from any features or abilities that would apply to melee weapon attacks.

Quick Draw

3rd-level Close Quiver Feature

You can draw or stow a ranged weapon as part of the attack you make with it. Additionally, when you roll initiative, you can make a ranged attack as a bonus action.

Point-Blank Precision

7th-level Close Quiver Feature

Your skill at using ranged weapons in melee range is unmatched. When you make a ranged weapon attack against a creature within 5 feet, you add your proficiency bonus to the damage roll. Additionally, your ranged weapon attacks within melee range score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.

Bowblade Mastery

11th-level Close Quiver Feature

You have become a master of wielding your ranged weapons as close-combat tools. When you use a ranged weapon as a melee weapon, you gain the following benefits:

  • The damage dice for your ranged weapon in melee increases to 1d8.
  • You can make an additional attack with your ranged weapon as a bonus action after hitting with a melee attack using the same weapon.
  • You can choose to deal bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage with your ranged weapon in melee combat, depending on the nature of the weapon.

Sharpshooter's Reflexes

15th-level Close Quiver Feature

Your speed and precision allow you to switch seamlessly between melee and ranged combat. When you make a melee attack with your ranged weapon, you can immediately make a ranged attack with the same weapon as part of the same action.
