Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your Patron lives within the realm of the consciousness and unconsciousness of all souls and he awakens within people the ability to harness and manifest their personality to face hardships. Unbeknownst to those he gifts power to, the patron is conducting an experiment with a being called the  Nyarlathotep to see if mortals can become enlightened beings, rising above their nature, or if they will completely and utterly destroy themselves. The war between the two is essentially a bet between the two meant to probe humanity's heart to wonder what lies inside.

Bonds

Our bonds with others endure despite distance, time, and even death. Your true bonds are always with you in your heart. Time heals all wounds, but it alone isn’t enough to forge powerful bonds between people. True bonds are built on emotional support as well as spending time together. This can be a little more difficult to adjudicate, but a simple guideline is: Have the PCs had a meaningful dialog where one has helped the other through a difficult time? Not a physical fight, but a mental or emotional one? Bonds require you to assist the other with a moral, ethical, emotional, or societal struggle. There is a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level to all bonds. Each level does not necessarily have to each be a new, separate problem; they may instead be steps towards a larger goal. The only qualification is that they be meaningful situations. You gain Bond Dice and abilities from the bonds you share with others. Bond Dice are a pool of willpower you’ve derived from your bonds which you can draw on to add to any roll other than damage. Your Bond Dice refresh after a long rest. You gain a d4 Bond Die when you form a new bond, so form many connections. They also step up in die size based on the level of your bond, so make deep connections.

Bond Level Bond Die Benefit 1 d4 You and your Bond each gain a Bond Die and can aid each other as a bonus action. 2 d6 You and your Bond can take the damage from an attack targeting the other so long as you are within 5ft of each other, and when you heal the other, roll your Bond Die with them and add it to the amount healed. 3 d8 Determine your Bond’s arcana and gain that arcana’s ability if you don’t have it. Your bond gains +1 AC.

Your recognition and acceptance of your malevolent inner thoughts has allowed you to tame and manifest these emotions as a Persona. You have awakened to your true potential.
