Base Class: Barbarian

At 3rd level, choose a Draconic Totem: Chromatic, Gem, or Metallic. Your choice determines the damage type and abilities granted by this subclass.

Chromatic Dragon

Chromatic dragons embody destruction, elemental fury, and primal dominance. Damage and resistance types when under this chosen totem.

  • Acid, Poison, Fire, and Cold.

 Gem Dragon

Gem dragons embody psychic power, cosmic energy, and the mysteries of the mind. Damage and resistance types when under this chosen totem.

  • Force, Thunder and Psychic.

Metallic Dragon

Metallic dragons embody protection, honor, wisdom, and the defense of others. Damage and resistance types when under this chosen totem.

  • Radiant, Lightning and Necrotic.

 

Draconic Resilience

While you are raging, you have Resistance to the damage types associated with your Draconic Totem.

 

Level 3: Draconic Breath

As an Action, you can exhale destructive energy in either a 15-foot Cone or a 30-foot Line that is 5 feet wide.

Each creature in the area makes a Dexterity saving throw against your Barbarian feature save DC.

Barbarian Feature Save DC = 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Constitution modifier

On a failed save, a creature takes the damage shown below. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage.

The damage type is determined by your Draconic Totem.

You can use Draconic Breath a number of times equal to number of Rages you have, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.

While raging, you can use Draconic Breath as a Bonus Action instead of an Action.

Level 6: Draconic Bond

 While you are raging, your spirit becomes more physically apparent and grants you the following benefit based on your Draconic Totem.

Chromatic — Elemental Fury

Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can deal an additional 1d6 damage of your Draconic Totem's damage type.

The damage increases to 1d8 at 10th level and 1d10 at 14th level.

Gem — Psionic Instinct

While raging, when a creature you can see within 30 feet makes an attack roll against you or an ally, you can use your Reaction to impose Disadvantage on the roll.

You can use this Reaction a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest.

Metallic — Draconic Guardian

While raging, you can use a Bonus Action to grant yourself or one creature you can see within 30 feet temporary Hit Points equal to your Barbarian level.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest.

Level 10: Draconic Might and Greater Draconic Breath

When you enter your Rage, choose one of the following benefits:

Draconic Wings

Spectral wings appear around you.

You gain a flying speed equal to your Speed until your Rage ends.

If you are flying when your Rage ends, you descend safely to the ground rather than falling.

Draconic Presence

Your spirit projects an overwhelming supernatural presence.

As a Bonus Action while raging, choose a number of creatures within 30 feet of you up to your Proficiency Bonus.

Each creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your Barbarian feature save DC or have the Frightened condition until the end of your next turn.

A creature that succeeds on the save is immune to this feature for 24 hours.

Draconic Power

When you enter your Rage, your next Draconic Breath you can choose to empower it.

An empowered breath has its range increased to either:

  • 30-foot Cone, or
  • 60-foot Line that is 5 feet wide

Once you use this enhanced version of Draconic Breath, you cannot do so again until you finish a Long Rest.


 

Level 14: Draconic Ascendancy

When you enter your Rage, your spirit manifests as a massive spectral dragon surrounding your body.

For the duration of the Rage:

  • Your Draconic Spirit becomes nearly solid.
  • Spectral wings, horns, claws, and a tail surround you.
  • Your eyes shine with the power of your dragon.
  • Your body becomes covered in glowing draconic scales.
  • Your voice carries the echo of your dragon.
  • Your elemental aura becomes visible around you.

You gain the following benefits.

Ancient Dragon Resistance

The Resistance granted by Draconic Resilience becomes Immunity to your chosen dragon's damage type, choose which damage type desired out of the chosen totems options

Draconic Breath Mastery

Your Draconic Breath damage increases to 8d10.

When you use Draconic Breath, you can use either its Cone or Line shape.
