Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your patron is the Wendigo, driven by an unsatiable hunger. These creatures are bound to the path of blood, deception, and brutality. Rarely have they been willing to grant feral powers to another being. The Wendigo often simply devours those who seek its strength, and thus, a pact with the creature is rare indeed. Those lucky enough to survive the encounter find themselves changed forever, taking on physical characteristics matching those of the little-known beast, bearing razor teeth, sprouting predatory claws, and gaining other unnatural and terrifying abilities.

Expanded Spell List

The Wendigo grants you access to an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Spell Level Spells
1st hunter’s mark, ensnaring strike
2nd alter self, blur
3rd haste, slow
4th dominate beast, stoneskin
5th contagion, commune with nature

Bonus Proficiencies

Starting at 3rd level, the Wendigo grants you enhanced predator-like skills. You gain expertise with the Survival skill, and you add double your proficiency bonus to any Wisdom (Survival) skill checks you make.

Ferocious Form

At 3rd level, you can use your bonus action to transforming and taking on beastly features mirroring those of your patron. For 10 minutes, you gain the following abilities:

  • You are filled with an incredible hunger, feeling nothing but bloodlust and famine. You gain temporary hit points equal to two times your warlock level, up to a maximum of 20 temporary hit points at 10th level. These temporary hit points last until the end of your transformation.
  • Your senses become supernaturally keen. You have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth), Wisdom (Perception), and Wisdom (Survival) checks you make to track or stalk your prey.
  • Your heightened instincts and anticipation give you an extra sense of what you enemies actions will be. You dodge and move more effectively during battle and are much harder to hit, thus adding +2 to your Armor Class.
  • Your mouth widens as you grow a set of pointed teeth. Your fingers elongate and your nails morph and extend into razor-sharp claws. Your carnivorous teeth and claws are used to make unarmed strikes against creatures within 5 feet of you. You have proficiency with these weapons and can use your Charisma modifier for the attack and damage rolls made using these natural weapons. On a hit, your bite deals 1d8 piercing damage, and your claws deal 1d6 slashing damage. As a bonus action, after making a bite attack, you can make a claw attack.
  • You are filled with an incredible hunger, feeling nothing but bloodlust and famine. The Wendigo feeds through your bite, and drinks through your claws. If you do not damage an enemy during your transformation, the Wendigo will in turn be forced to feed on you, causing you to take one level of exhaustion.
  • Starting at 5th level, your muscles strengthen, and your movements quicken. You can now make two claw attacks using your bonus action after you have made a bite attack with your action. Additionally, at 5th level, you can take the Dash or Hide action as a bonus action while you are in your Ferocious Form.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. You can gain one transformation during a short rest, but may only do so once per long rest.

At 6th level, your transformation lasts for 1 hour instead of 10 minutes.

Activate Ferocious Form

Your Ferocious Form is active.

Feed The Starving

At 6th level, the Wendigo's hunger is fed through your attacks in Ferocious Form. Once per turn, when you hit a creature with your bite attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 3d6 points of necrotic damage. In exchange for this small morsel toward the Wendigo's insatiable hunger, the Wendigo supplies a small reward. You regain a number of hit points equal to half the total damage dealt with this attack.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you score a critical hit with a bite or claw attack or until you finish a short or long rest.

At 10th level, the extra necrotic damage provided by this feature increases to 5d6.

Terrify the Prey

At 10th level, you learn how to display the visage of the Wendigo, even when not transformed. You can use your action to cause each hostile creature you can see within a 30-foot radius to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, the target becomes frightened of you for 1 minute, and it is restrained until the end of your next turn. A frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Retributive Attack

Upon reaching 14th level, you become even more ferocious when pushed to your limits. When an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to immediately transform into your Ferocious Form and then make one bite or claw attack at an enemy within 5 feet of you.

Additionally, while transformed into your Ferocious Form, when you take damage from a creature that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a bite or claw attack against that creature.
