Base Class: Monk
The monk who follows the Way of the Void harnesses the power of the nothingness within the cracks of being-ness itself. The monk who is practiced in this school is able to fill the spaces between existence and non-existence, moving both physically and mentally through the fabric of the universe. Monks of the Void spend their time of rest in deep meditation, during which their physical form begins to resonance with the fabric of space and time. They come to occupy the space between space and the time outside time. As they remain in meditation within the Void, they absorb its power into their life essence (ki). The longer they stay in this state of meditation, the more power of nothingness they retain, until all of their available ki is the essence of the Void. They are then able to focus and release the power of the Void through their ki. After countless hours of meditating on the Void, they may even achieve maximum nothingness, bestowing even greater powers and abilities.
The Space Between Space
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use your ki to traverse the space between space. As a bonus action, you can use 1 ki point to put your material body into resonance with the fabric of space. You must immediately take your movement or you lose the resonance. While resonating you do not draw any attacks of opportunity (as if disengaged), and you can move through material objects in your path (such as walls or other characters, etc.) no thicker than 5 feet, but you can still be obstructed by magical barriers (such as wall of force, etc.) and you still take damage from objects that cause damage (such as fire and lava).
At 10th level, the thickness of the objects you can move through increases to 15 feet
At 18th level, you have achieved maximum nothingness. The thickness of the objects you can move through is only limited to your movement speed minus 5. (e.g. if your movement speed is 40, you can move through 35 feet of objects.) You also no longer take damage from the objects you move through and you are no longer stopped by magical barriers.
Once you have used The Space Between Space you cannot do so again until you have finished a short or long rest.
Become The Void
Starting at 6th level, you have learned to become the Void in response to an attack. As a reaction, you can use 2 ki points to put yourself into resonance for a brief time. Until the start of your next turn, you become resistant to all non-magical damage.
At 12th level, when you become the Void, you become resistant to all damage, including magical, until the start of your next turn.
At 18th level, you have achieved maximum nothingness. When you become the Void, you are immune to all damage until the start of your next turn.
Once you have become the Void, you cannot do so again until you have finished a long rest.
Unleash the Void
At 11th level, you gain the ability to imbue your unarmed attacks with the essence of nothingness, releasing the power of the Void into your target. When you hit a target with your unarmed strike, you can use 1 ki point to add 1d6 force damage. You can use more ki points to increase the damage, 1 ki point per 1d6 force damage, up to a maximum of 3 ki points for 3d6 force damage per unarmed attack.
At 18th level, you have achieved maximum nothingness. The maximum amount of ki points you can use when unleashing the void is doubled to 6, for a total of 6d6 force damage.
The Time Outside Time
At 17th level, you gain the ability to move outside of time itself. As a bonus action or reaction, you can use 5 ki points to briefly suspend time. While time is suspended, you gain all of the following until the end of your turn or reaction:
- Your movement speed is doubled.
- You can make an extra attack; plus take a second bonus action or take a second reaction (depending on whether you've moved outside time as a bonus action or reaction).
- You gain +5 to your AC.
- You gain advantage on Dexterity saving throws. On a successful dexterity save, you take no damage. And on a fail you only take half damage.
Once you have used Time Outside Time, you cannot do so again until you have finished a long rest.
