Chi-blocking is an ancient technique that can be used to block someone's chi, rendering the victim's muscles useless and temporarily disabling a bender's abilities. Practiced in secret for centuries, it is mainly used by nonbenders as a means of self-defense or even to attack.

Chi-Block

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can manipulate the flow of chi in your opponents bodies. Whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you can expend an additional ki point to attempt to block any bending.

The Target must make a constitution saving throw. On a failure they are unable to take the bend action or cast any spells until the start of your next turn. On a success the target has disadvantage on their next bending attack, or all those effected by a bending effect have advantage if the effect requires a saving throw.

Stunning Chi Block

At 6th level, When you stun a target with Stunning Strike you can also apply the effects of a successful saving throw of your Chi-Block ability by expending an additional ki point. This effect lasts until the start of your turn following the ending of your stun and applies to all bending and spell effects.

Chi Slow

Beginning at 11th level, you understand how chi flows on all bodies, not just that of benders.

You can expend a ki point to enter a stance which lasts until you leave it, are stunned, paralized, or incapacitated in some other way.

When you successfully hit a creature three times in a single turn with a melee monk weapon, you can force them to make a constitution saving throw. On a failure they receive the same conditions as described in the slow spell.

Multi-Strike Chi-Block

At 17th level, your rapid strikes causes disruption in another's body without needing to expend your own ki points. When you hit the same target six times within two turns, you can force them to make a CON saving throw. They are subject to the same success and failure conditions as originally described by the ability. If the target is a non-bender, they are instead subject to the effects of stunning strike.
