Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

You have made a pact with things that shall not be named, with a being of unknowable power, something from outside of normal reality. Whether this being is from the far realms or somewhere else entirely is up to you and your DM, though whatever it is, you have forever traded your ability to speak, whether it be through your voice, magic, or even telepathically.

No Voice to Cry Pain.

Every pact has a price. Every deal has a drawback. You cannot speak, by any means. Whether you try to use minor illusion to speak for you, attempt to communicate through telepathy, or even plain verbal speech, you produce nothing but silence. This cannot be circumvented by any means (though you can for instance write, or use sign language).

This is both a harm and a help. Through being granted this unspeakable power, you have learned a new way of magic, usually only available in small bursts by sorcerers or the like. You can ignore the verbal components of any spell requiring them. If a spell requires a creature to hear you, you instead target it if you can see it with your senses (blindsight, tremor sense, darkvision, etc.)

Additionally, with your voice taken, the power contained within you has found other ways to be expelled. You possess strength unnatural for one of your build. You gain the following benefits:

  • You can add your Charisma modifier to Strength Checks and Saving Throws
  • When you score a critical hit against a creature, you can choose to knock it prone
  • Once per turn, when you damage a creature with an attack or spell, you can deal additional force damage to that target equal to your proficiency bonus, it move it 5 feet.
  • (Pact of the Blade Only) Your Unarmed Attacks count as attacks made with a Pact Weapon. You are considered proficient with Unarmed Attacks if you are not already, and can use your Charisma Modifier in place of your Strength when attacking with them. They deal 1d8 + your Charisma Modifier Magical Bludgeoning Damage, and count as light weapons for the purposes of Two Weapon Fighting.

Reality Distortion.

6th level

As your connection to the Unspeakable deepens, your body grows ever more unbreakable. If you are targeted by a magic missile spell, a line spell, or a spell that requires a ranged attack roll, you can roll a d6. On a 1 to 5, you are unaffected. On a 6, you are unaffected, and the spell is reflected back at the caster as though it originated from you, turning the caster into the target.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, regaining all expended uses upon finishing a long rest. This feature can only be activated once every round.

At Warlock level 14, this feature has unlimited charges.

Unbroken.

10th level

Through your connection to the Unspeakable, your mind and body have gained some of its resilience. You are always considered under the effects of the Nondetection spell. Additionally, you are immune to the Charmed and Frightened conditions, and your ability scores cannot be reduced by any means.

Unknowable Power.

14th level

You are always treated as if under the effects of the Mind Blank spell. Additionally, your form cannot be altered if you are unwilling, nor can you be moved against your will. Finally, your spells count as one level higher for the purposes of counterspell and dispel magic (a level 3 fireball would need a level 4 counterspell to negate, etc.).
