Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Whether by a blessing, curse, or ancient blood-lines, the lonesome shapechangers who follow the Path of Dominion seek strength to never be under another's power. Whether it be against the jaws of a dragon or the blades of monster hunters, those who seek dominion never falter.

Level 3: Form of Dominion

Form of Dominion: When you expend a use of Rage, you may activate this feature. Your form changes into that of a powerful predator—either natural or abberant—and you gain access to a Maw Weapon (your choice each time you transform).

Maw Weapons are treated as Simple Melee Weapons, but may have additional properties. Although not Unarmed Strikes, Magic Items that affect Unarmed Strikes also affect Maw Weapons. When you hit a creature with a Maw Weapon attack you can use your Bonus Action to attempt to grapple them, using your Maw Weapon as the grappling appendage. Creatures smaller than you have disadvantage on the Strength or Dexterity saving throw to resist or escape this grapple. Attacking other creatures with your Maw Weapon while a creature is held in this way ends the grappled condition.

When transforming, weapons and armor you are wielding may be merged into you, incorporated into your new form, or dropped to the ground (Examples: If wielding a sword, your form may incorporate it, allowing "claw" attacks. If wearing armor, your form may incorporate it, becoming extra durable). If you select Dominion Form: Greatmaw, shields may only be merged, not incorporated.

While in this transformed state, retain all other statistics and features. Additionally, Magic Items retain their efficacy.

Adhere to the rules of your other weapons and held objects as if you were holding them, like normal.

Drag Prey: While under the effects of Form of Dominion, your movement is not halved when grappling creatures smaller than you with your Maw Weapon.

Wolf Among Sheep: You radiate the energy of a carnivore on the prowl. You know the Thaumaturgy cantrip and may cast it as a Bonus Action even if you are under the effects of Rage. Strength is your spellcasting ability for this spell. When selecting Thaumaturgy's special Intimidation option, you may ignore the Verbal component of the to the spell and receive a bonus to your Intimidation rolls equal to your Strength modifier.

Dominion Form: Greatmaw

Level 6: Path to Supremacy

Tyrant's Presence: You take on an overbearing presence, bolstering your ferocity. When you are under the effects of Form of Dominion, you also increase your size. If your current size category is medium or larger, you increase in size by one category. If your current size is small or smaller, you increase in size by two categories. While large or larger, your speed is increased by 5 feet.

Improved Drag Prey: Once on each of your turns when you move with a creature grappled by your Maw Weapon, you may impose one of the following effects:

  • Pinning Drag. The creature must succeed on a Strength saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus or fall prone.
  • Drag & Shake. The creature must succeed a Constitution saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus or drop 1 object or weapon they are holding. The object or weapon is dropped at a space of your choice along your movement.
  • Opportunistic Drag. You leave your prey open to attack. When you drag your prey within the melee attack range of an ally, they may use their Reaction to make one attack of opportunity against the dragged creature. Only one creature can benefit from this in a single turn.

Persistant Form: You may now activate Form of Dominion with an Action, without expending a use of Rage. While utilizing the form in this way, you do not recieve the benefits of Drag Prey, Improved Drag Prey, Feeding Frenzy, features listed under Uncontested Hierarchy, or are able to impose disadvantage on grappling saving throws.

Level 10: Dread Hunter

Precognitive Predation: While under the effects of Rage, your predatory instincts allow you to sense when a creature is attempting to flee. If a creature within your Maw Weapon's reach attempts to teleport (e.g Misty Step, Dimension Door), you may use your reaction to make an attack of opportunity against that creature before they teleport. On a hit, the creature must make a special Concentration saving throw. On a failed save the target's spell slot or ability use is expended, but they do not teleport. On a succesful save the target teleports normally. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.

Level 14: Uncontested Hierarchy

Titanic Predator: You radiate the ferocious aura of a titanic apex predator. While under the effects of Form of Dominion, you may increase your size to even greater proportions. If your current size is medium or larger, you increase in size by one or two categories (your choice). If your current size is small or smaller, you increase in size by two or three categories (your choice). While huge or larger, your Maw Weapons now deal an additional damage die.

Devour Whole: While under the effects of Form of Dominion,  you gain an additional attack option. When you take the Attack Action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an attempt to devour a creature that is currently grappled by your Maw Weapon. The creature you are attempting to devour must make a Strength or Dexterity saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus. If you are larger than the grappled creature it makes the check at disadvantage. If the creature fails this saving throw, it recieves 10d10 piercing damage and you are healed for half the damage it recieves. If the target fails this saving throw and had less than 100 Hit Points, it is killed instantly and you are healed for any of the creature's remaining Hit Points. Upon a succesful save, the target recieves half damage, is no longer grappled, and you heal for half the damage dealt. If creature is your size or larger, it automatically succeeds this saving throw. Once this feature is used, it may not be used again until you finish a Long Rest.
