Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Projectionists are individuals capable of reinforcing the images conjured within their mind to the point that they can will them into existence as if forged from thin air. And, if they grow strong enough, can even grow to recreate the abilities woven into weapons forged of the very weave itself.

Projectionists are as unpredictable as they are versatile, never truly out of reach of a weapon as long as they can imagine the shape of one. Masters of forgery, a Projectionist’s very existence is akin to a declaration that perhaps a fake can surpass the original.

Level 3: Projection

You harbor the ability to forge the weapons you see in your mind from thin air. As a Bonus Action you can project a simple or martial weapon of your choosing that lasts for one minute. The projection will fade immediately upon the creation of a new weapon regardless of remaining time.

You can also project tools or otherwise mundane items as long as their total weight is less than or equal to twice your Strength modifier.

Level 7: Gatling Blades

Your application of your gift has improved, allowing you to craft and launch hollow creations in the blink of an eye. When taking the Attack Action, you can replace any number of attacks with a ranged attack using any nonmagical simple or martial weapon of your choice as if the weapon had the Thrown (Range 30/60) property. You do not need a free hand to make an attack this way.

Level 7: Replica Projection

Your skills have improved to the extent that you have learned how to create counterfeits of weapons that you can see, with magical properties up to a +1 bonus, and use them as if attuned to them. As a Bonus Action you make a Perception check (DC: 15), on a success you project a replica of the magical weapon that lasts for 1 minute or until dismissed. You can do this a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Short Rest.

In addition, nonmagical weapons have become easier to project, no longer requiring a Bonus Action to forge, and can instead be crafted as part of an individual attack akin to equipping a standard weapon. Projections made this way last only a single attack.

Level 10: Replica Magazine

You have gained enough familiarity with the forging of magical duplicates that your mind keeps certain shapes stored and at the ready. You can memorize up to 3 magical weapons at any given point to use in Replica Projection. Magical weapons projected this way do not require a Perception check to manifest. The process of memorizing the structure of a magical weapon in this way requires you to spend a Short Rest in close proximity to the weapon to study it.

Level 15: Counter Production

You have learned to repurpose the speed of Gatling Blades to serve as a counteracting defense. When taking damage from a weapon, you can use your Reaction to manifest a hollow projection and make an attack roll against the weapon, its AC is equal to the result of the attack roll it made against you, and its Hitpoints are equal to the maximum roll of its damage dice. If your projection successfully intercepts the attack, roll the same damage die as the attack made against you, reducing the incoming damage by that amount. If you are to roll the maximum value from those die, the attack is parried entirely.

Level 18: Forged Technique

Your understanding of your counterfeiting nature has reached its apex, allowing you to trace not only weapons, but the techniques those weapons are utilized with. As a Reaction to any Attack or Action that utilizes a weapon that you can see, make a Perception check, with the DC equaling the CR or Level of the observed creature. On a success you recreate the motions in your mind, and can bring them into reality using your Action to perform them. This Forged Technique remains in your mind until the end of your next turn, and disappears upon use. You can use this feature a number of times equal to half of your Proficiency Bonus per Short Rest.

Level 10: Improved Replica Projection

Your skills have improved to the extent that you have learned how to create counterfeits of weapons that you can see, with magical properties up to a +2 bonus, and use them as if attuned to them. As a Bonus Action you make a Perception check (DC: 15), on a success you project a replica of the magical weapon that lasts for 1 minute or until dismissed. You can do this a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Short Rest. You also gain Proficiency in the Perception skill if you don’t already have it.

In addition, nonmagical weapons have become easier to project, no longer requiring a Bonus Action to forge, and can instead be crafted as part of an individual attack akin to equipping a standard weapon. Projections made this way last only a single attack.

Level 15: Perfected Replica Projection

Your skills have improved to the extent that you have learned how to create counterfeits of weapons that you can see, with magical properties up to a +3 bonus, and use them as if attuned to them. As a Bonus Action you make a Perception check (DC: 15), on a success you project a replica of the magical weapon that lasts for 1 minute or until dismissed. You can do this a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Short Rest. You also gain Expertise in the Perception skill if you don’t already have it.

In addition, nonmagical weapons have become easier to project, no longer requiring a Bonus Action to forge, and can instead be crafted as part of an individual attack akin to equipping a standard weapon. Projections made this way last only a single attack.
