Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

This barbarian subclass is designed around the concept of primal shapeshifting fused directly with raw, unbridled fury. Rather than just transforming into a single type of animal or leaning solely into a localized combat trick, this path turns the barbarian into a dynamic apex predator that can completely alter its physiology on the fly.

When entering a rage, or by shifting focus mid-combat, the barbarian can seamlessly cycle through three distinct environmental adaptations:

• Terrestrial Mastery: The barbarian manifests brutal natural weaponry, tearing through foes with vicious claws that scale in lethality alongside their experience. They gain explosive mobility in close quarters, allowing them to capitalize instantly whenever an enemy's guard drops or an opening presents itself.

• Aerial Dominance: The barbarian takes to the skies with supernatural wings and weightless grace. They move completely unfettered by gravity, capable of soaring across open battlefields and closing distances with unmatched velocity while remaining entirely immune to the hazards of falls.

• Aquatic Terror: The barbarian adapts to the depths with effortless swimming speed and subaquatic respiration. In damp or waterlogged environments, they can churn the surrounding water into a violently hostile hazard, bringing a crushing localized swarm down upon anyone who dares approach them.

As they grow more powerful, their connection to the wild expands far beyond simple combat maneuvers. Their sensory perception sharpens to unnatural extremes, allowing them to track targets and read environments with predatory precision. At the height of their power, they stop merely adopting traits and can transform entirely into monstrous beasts of legendary scale, temporarily stepping fully into the physical form of a massive creature while infusing it with their own terrifying resilience. Finally, their mastery over the terrain becomes absolute; whatever biome matches their current primal state treats them as though no obstacle or difficult ground exists, allowing them to hunt unhindered across mountains, skies, or tides.

Beastial Form

3rd-level Path of the Beast feature

When you enter your Rage, and as a bonus action on your turn while raging, you can adopt one of three Bestial Forms: Land, Air, or Sea. You can change your form freely using a bonus action while your Rage is active.

Land Form

• Savage Claws: Your unarmed strikes transform into vicious natural weapons dealing 1d4 slashing damage plus your Strength modifier. This damage increases as you gain barbarian levels, becoming 1d6 at 5th level, 1d8 at 11th level, and 1d10 at 17th level. This attack is considered Magic

• Apex Pounce: When you make a weapon attack while you have advantage on the attack roll, you can use a bonus action to make an unarmed strike with your Savage Claws.

Air Form

• Skydancer: You gain a flying speed of 30 feet and immunity to falling damage. While in this form, you are constantly under the effects of the Jump spell.

• Gale Sweep: When you make an attack roll while you have advantage, you can use a bonus action to Dash. Movement you spend after using this Dash does not provoke opportunity attacks.

Sea Form

• Deep Swimmer: You gain a swim speed of 40 feet and the ability to breathe underwater.

• Piranha Swarm: When you make an attack roll while you have advantage, you can use a bonus action to call a school of piranhas to swarm in a 10-foot radius around you until the start of your next turn (you must be in water or a wet environment to use this effect). Creatures that start their turn in the swarm must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC equals 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Constitution modifier). On a failed save, a creature takes 4d6 piercing damage, or no damage on a successful one. This ability is considered Magic

Heightened Senses

Your senses sharpen to unnatural degrees. You gain advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Intelligence (Investigation) checks that rely on sight or hearing.

Apex Metamorphosis

Once per long rest, when you enter your Rage, you can instead assume the form of a beast with a Challenge Rating (CR) of 4 or lower. You adopt the game statistics of the chosen beast—except for its alignment, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma—and add your Constitution modifier to its Armor Class.

The maximum CR of the beast you can transform into increases as you gain barbarian levels: CR 5 at 13th level, and CR 6 at 17th level. This effect ends early if your hit points drop to 0 or your rage ends.

Biome Adaptation

Your adaptation to the wild becomes absolute. You ignore difficult terrain while your current Bestial Form matches the terrain you are in (Land form in forests/plains/mountains, Air form at high altitudes/open skies, Sea form in aquatic environments or heavy rainfall/swamps, subject to DM discretion).
