Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Arcane Scholars devote themselves to the study of magic as a discipline, seeking to understand the principles that govern spells and the forces that make them possible. Through careful observation, experimentation, and relentless study, they learn to analyze magic with remarkable precision and adapt their own spells to overcome its challenges.

Rather than specializing in a particular school of magic, Arcane Scholars study magic in its entirety. Their spellbooks contain extensive notes on arcane phenomena, magical creatures, and the techniques of other spellcasters. In time, an Arcane Scholar can unravel even unfamiliar magic, turning knowledge itself into a potent weapon.

Level 3: Arcane Analysis

You can cast Detect Magic and Identify once each without a spell slot, regaining the ability to cast these spells in this way upon a long rest. In addition, you have advantage on Intelligence (Arcana) skill checks made to identify magic, magic items, or creatures of magical origin.

Level 3: Consult Studies

As a bonus action on your turn, you can consult your arcane studies in your spellbook. Doing so grants you advantage on the next Intelligence-based ability check or spell attack roll you make. You can do this a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier, regaining expended uses upon finishing a Short Rest.
In addition, you can use your spellbook as an arcane focus for your Wizard spells.

Level 6: Ritual Expert

A number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, you can cast a spell with the Ritual tag as a Ritual without extending the spell's casting time, regaining expended uses of this feature upon finishing a Long Rest.

Level 10: Studious Casting

When casting a spell that deals damage using your spellbook as an arcane focus, you add your Intelligence modifier to one roll of the spell's damage. In addition, you gain a +1 bonus to your spell attack rolls and spellcasting DC while wielding your spellbook as an arcane focus.

Level 14: Recall Lore

Once per Long Rest, you can cast Legend Lore without a spell slot or any material components as long as you have your spellbook with you. When you cast it in this way, it can be about any at least somewhat known topic, not just famous and widely known topics, at the DM's discretion.
